    1. Their father was horrifically abusing them and their mother knew and did nothing. If that doesn’t deserve an ounce of leniency I don’t know what does.

I know it was an uphill battle when they switched prosecutors but I actually thought he be released

Rehabilitative justice does not exist in our country (US) — it’s just a word politicians/district attorneys throw around so that they can trick the general public into believing that those incarcerated can receive a fair shot at life.

I feel awful for him. He probably had so much hope. Haven’t they been very well behaved in prison as well? I don’t understand how after 35 years they are still considered a threat?

    5. I’m disgusted with this decision, even if people agree that he was guilty, he served his time and was on good behavior. This poor child had an upbringing of nightmares and this country can’t even let him see what good the world can have, if there is any left at this point.

    6. Watching one of the more recent documentaries about this case, I think they should have a chance at life on the outside. If the case was tried in more modern times, they definitely wouldn’t have received as harsh of a sentence.

Imo if you kill someone, you should get life in prison. Their victims did not get a second chance, neither should they.

And self defence using deadly force is only justified when life is in immediate danger. That is the law regarding self defence. I don’t buy the self defence argument

    8. It’s wild how the ones you’d expect to get the harsher sentences don’t, while those just trying to survive or defend themselves end up paying the highest price. The system is pure insanity.

    9. Lots of true crime girlies with awful takes on this.

You think they’d be more empathetic to the way horrific abuse could push someone to murder, but here we are.

fyi it was because of cell phones

the good news is that he will probably get parole in 18 months if he does not have any more violations

They literally target killed their abusive parents. They are not a threat to general society

    12. I feel like people always forget their parents weren’t just some randos. Their father was not only just rich but well connected in LA. Their was a genuine reason for them to be afraid for their lives if they tried to just leave and cut them off

This may seem harsh. I feel for them, but until they admit that money was the main motive for killing their parents they’re not going to get paroled.
