I’ve never seen this movie but I think he’s a really good actor. He really embodies the character which I think would be particularly difficult when playing a superhero.

    2. I’m glad the person he was reading with started to get into it too. I’ve always hated the idea that they have to be monotone. Actors need something to play off of.

Smart to film in front of the blue wall – show that he would look good in the suit 🤣

good thing I’m not a casting director bc all it would take is “I’m David Corenswet and I’m 6’4” and I would immediately give him the job

He had it from the start for sure.

What’s interesting to me is the differences in the geopolitics subplot, I’ve been a little bit obsessed with tracking the timeline of what changes were made to the script when. I’m gonna read a lot into this, but neither of the country names sound European like the invading country was in the final movie. The invading country here sounds like the one that Bassem Yousef’s replaced character was going to be the dictator of. Lois also talks about Superman violating “international treaties” here, but nothing about the invading country being a US ally like it was in the final version.

If anyone in curious, the initial script was finished in April 2023, auditions were in May, in December 2023 Gunn confirmed it was 99% done but he was still making small changes, in February 2024 it came out that Bassem Yousef had been cut (we subsequently got more info that he wasn’t cut over his pro-Palestine interviews, and that his entire character had been replaced), and the movie began filming in Spring/Summer 2024.
