It’s been over 22 years since the premiere of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ season 1, and I still haven’t found a single reality TV character who speaks to my soul the way Elyse Sewell did

This is the brand of refreshing authenticity we’ve lost as a society. Behold, Elyse, a beautiful blend of confidently wrong and surprisingly right; candor, and shameless individuality.

    2. I followed her for the longest time on LiveJournal, she had a prolific modeling career in Asia post-show IIRC

    3. I appreciated seeing her wear a Shins shirt and then low and behold she’s dating one of them because of course

If you’re an ANTM fan, Sarah Hartshorne has a book out, called So You Wanna Be On Top? Its her reflections of her time on the show (s8)…the show does not come out looking very good, and I’d love to read more from other seasons/perspectives, but it was a fast, interesting read!

    5. Was this the contestant that had Asperger’s? Vivid memories of my older sister being like “there’s this contestant on Top Model that’s JUST like you!” and turns out she just meant we were both on the spectrum lmao

    6. It’s 24/7 “missing authentic reality show stars when reality tv was a wild west clusterfuck” hours in my house
