Princess Diana’s Time Capsule Opened 34 Years Later: What’s Inside | E! News

The contents of Princess Diana’s time capsule are an ode to the early 90s. A time capsule that the Princess of Wales buried in 1991 at a London hospital was opened on August 27th. Some of the items inside include Kylie Manog’s Rhythm of Love album from 1990, a Casio pocket TV, a solar powered calculator, a passport, a copy of the Sunday Times newspaper, and a photo of Princess Diana. While some of the artifacts had water damage, the chosen items mostly remain intact after their 35-year hibernation. Princess Dy became the president of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in 1989 and visited several times before her death in 1997. The royal helped two children who won a competition run by British children’s TV show Blue Peter pick the items that went in the capsule. The princess’s brother, Charles Spencer, also recently went digging for a relic in memory of the late royal, posting this childhood photo of he and his sister on his Instagram page, writing, “A long ago summer by the swimming pool at our childhood home, Park House Sandingham. Diana and I both proudly showing off our swimming badges. These were awarded sparingly by Mrs. Lansdown, a fairly terrifying but very gifted swimming instructor who came to stay each year. We were never out of that pool. [Music]
