the right-winged ability to still cannot see what’s in front of them should be seriously studied.

Very rich considering this man literally said his brain functioned better when he was on heroin

The rest of the world has access to SSRIs and many countries have similar usage rates to the US. The rest of the world has anxiety and depression. The rest of the world even has problems with loneliness and isolation. But this problem is a uniquely American problem. So let’s try again and think a little bit harder this time to find the independent variable. Do you know what an independent variable is, Robbie?

Huh, my SSRI-induced gun-murder instinct must be kicking in any moment now then.

    4. Kidgorgeoushere on

Mm yeah that’s what it is. Not easy access to literal assault weapons or anything.

So you admit you give people with mental health issues GUNS!?!?

If people are so fucked up and it’s not the guns then why are you giving fucked up people guns RFK?

    6. How can anyone listen to this human garborator speak and think he has everyone’s best health in mind.

    7. unknown_tuber on

I was on an SSRI throughout high school, and I never brought a gun to school or shot anyone.

    8. It will never stop being amazing and baffling to me that THIS is the person in charge of healthcare. Antivaxxer, drug addict, with a brain eaten by worms and looking and talking as if he’s at death’s door. Who thought this was a good idea?! Oh yeah – the orange child molester.

“guns don’t kill people, SSRIs do!”

The NRA thanks you, Health Secretary, for your boot licking service.

    10. If he makes me wean off Zoloft (sertraline) I’m coming for him because that withdrawal is BRUTAL And it’s the only thing keeping me sane

    11. oh boy… literally in the US on SSRIs right now 😭 it’s already hell getting them with insurance denials and everything I don’t know what I’d do without them though…

Lack of welfare support. Lack of economic opportunities. Access to firearms.

Increase the social security net. Pass gun regulations or outright bans *and* enforce them – lots of options here.

Since COVID, Americans actually have a shorter lifespan than other rich nations – and the gap keeps widening. Our lack of welfare state has completely exposed how broken and abusive the American system is. That’s the “mental health crisis” of this equation.

Until we do *both* these things, we will continue to sacrifice our children and citizens to the power and wealth of the few.

    13. He does know that SSRIs help with mood stabilization right? I had far more extreme emotional swings when I wasn’t diagnosed and taking them than after I got on them.

Or is this just more of the ‘pharmacology bad’ line of thinking?

    14. Ok-Strength4804 on

lol this is absurd. I believe there is no black box warning for homicidal ideation only suicidal ideation. The warning was placed back in like 2004 based on studies conducted 10 years prior that showed a 4% increase in suicidal ideation compared to placebo which was at 2%. You know what really raises the risk of homicidal ideation or suicidal ideation is untreated severe mental illness. His rhetoric is dangerous.

The crushing wealth inequality with an SSRI ban would virtually guarantee more of these events. But go off dude.

    15. Whenever I hear a right winger talk about “studies” or “the literature”, im immediately suspicious

i’ve been on antidepressants most of my life. i’ve never wanted to hurt anybody, least of all with a gun.

i think RFK’s worm has just fully taken over at this rate

    17. How can people claim school shootings are because of mental health issues and then claim it’s because of things that help improve mental health?!?

    18. Ok_Commercial_8438 on

      ![gif](giphy|LWmKECPUMW8F2)

It’s antidepressants and not UNTREATED MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND LAX GUN LAWS that are contributing to mass shootings?

I’m ready to wake up from this nightmare.

    19. Disinformation around mental health is a step towards autocracy. Not giving these assemblage of idiots the villain edit but don’t think that Stephen miller isn’t aware that weaponizing all aspects of the other doesn’t work.

Maybe they ban antidepressants or maybe they take the opportunity to find all the people on antidepressants under the guise of a national emergency.

Whatever they do, the ultimate goal is to thin the population and create their version of an ordered society.

Man RFK Jr. is a fucking idiot.

DEI hire. Dude sounds like shit but guess we gotta give him a job concerning public health.

    21. Is he aware other countries have SSRIs too and aren’t plagued by school shootings?
