AI generated videos of General Hospital’s Steve Burton are scamming women out of their money and one daughter is speaking out about the devastating situation. Vivian Ruvaba tells KABC in an August 26th video how her mother fell victim to the scam, saying, “I’m sickened by it because it went this far. Why didn’t I know this? Why didn’t I see what was happening? What what did I miss?” According to the police report obtained by GMA, Viven’s mom, Abigail, sent over $81,000 in prepaid gift cards, cash, and Bitcoin, as well as sold her condo for $350,000 after the scammer pretending to be Steve claimed he lost property during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. Hello, Abigail. I love you so much, darling. I had to make this video to make you happy, my love. I hope this puts a smile on your heart. You should always know that nothing will ever make me hurt you or lie to you, my queen. And the real Steve Burton is responding, telling KABC, “First of all, I don’t need your money. I would never ask for money. I see people come to my appearances and look at me like they’ve had a relationship online for a couple years.” And I’m like, “No, I’m sorry. I don’t know. I don’t know who you are.” And you just see, it’s so sad. You see the devastation. [Music]
