    1. you could make a whole compilation of just Jessica Simpson/Olsen twins, they love them a huge bag

True but also a sad tribute to 2000s diet culture. Rachel Zoe and a rake of *Hollywood stylists* decided a giant bag would make us look smaller in comparison. They also made a good weapon when required.

    3. The title is taking me out 💀

Did I imagine this or did SNL do a skit on the Olson twins large bags??

Take me back, i want to be able to take half my house with me just in case. (Genuinely, I love a huge bag, if you have one you currently love please tell me about it bc I am in the market. Love to buy secondhand, too, so i’ll take literally any suggestion)

I don’t know what year the Ashley Tisdale picture is from, but I had a similar bag circa 2009-10.

    6. The only ludicrous bag I see is the Olsen brown leather bag. The other ones look reasonable to me when you spend the day away from home. Laptop, lunch, book, makeup bag, water bottle…

God I miss the huge oversized bags. Did I ever even have enough things to put in them? Do I still want them to come back? Yes absolutely.

What’s even in there, huh? Flat shoes for the subway? Her lunch pail? I mean, Greg, it’s monstrous. It’s gargantuan. You could take it camping. You could slide it across the floor after a bank job.

    9. Need!!

God I’ve been looking for a bag like these this year with no real luck; any one got any (reasonably priced) recommendations?

Honestly, I love me a ridiculously huge bag. And it still won’t be enough to fit my stuff 😂

    11. I wanted the Balenciaga moto bag *SO* bad when I was a teenager. I bought a knock off of one of the big ones like these in NYC when they were at their peak and it was just an absurd size, literally not practical at all.

    12. I remember wanting a big studded leather black bag similar to pic 4 but in 2005 the only option where I lived was to order it online so my mom had to battle it out on eBay (presumably against a number of other parents of millennial teens) waking up early to bid and she won with a bid of like $80 and I used that thing all 3 years of high school. It was hanging by a thread by the end but I knew I looked so good w it 😭🤣

    13. This might be a hot take but I think there’s something to be said about big bags being popular during the recession and then small bags becoming popular after it. Small bags not only fall in the line of that minimalist style becoming popular in the mid 2010s but they also convey a old school rich appearance (rich people don’t need to carry lots of things, hence why they would only use small bags). When we got out of the recession it became more appealing to have these bourgeoisie-coded displays of wealth, and that included small bags.

I like the look of a huge bag but i hate carrying anything. I would prefer to go entirely bagless, but my pockets aren’t big enough. Right now, I’m using the smallest backpack I can find that is still practical.

Attention fashion designers: Give women pockets!

Honestly should have saved that first one for the end because after that I was like I dunno these are all normal actually

I lusted after those Balenciaga bags so much. I ended up buying a stupidly large bag that I used for work and didn’t have enough stuff to fit inside of it.

whenever i have a bag this big i always fill it up and then it’s like im dragging a sea anchor.
