Nacho Figueras has said that he is “hopeful” that the Netflix project that he worked on with Prince Harry will get renewed for a second season. The Argentine polo player, 47, met Harry, 40, back in 2007 at a charity match in support of Sentebale – with the pair having stayed friends ever since.

Speaking last year about Polo, a Netflix show focused on the sport Nacho worked on with Harry as part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s five-year deal, Nacho said: “I’m excited about the Netflix Polo series that we just launched. I’m so excited about [the show], because hopefully that will educate a lot more people about the sport that we love.” Discussing Harry’s passion for the sport, he said: “[Harry] really wanted Polo, which is something that he’s very passionate about and something that he’s been doing from a very young age. He wanted Polo to be one of the projects.”

Previously sharing his excitement, Nacho then said that a second series is something that, at the time, they were “already talking about”.

Nacho told Town & Country: “If we get more people to embrace it and love it and give us two thumbs up on the Netflix app, then hopefully we will.

“The feedback has been great so far very great, and so you know I really hope that when the time comes that we will be able to. We’re already talking about [a second season].”

Nacho’s comments came months before it was first reported that the couple’s five-year deal with Netflix was set to come to an end – before it was confirmed that they had, instead, entered a “first-look” deal with the popular streaming service.

In a statement released in August, Meghan Markle said: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand. My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

There have been previous reports of projects that Harry and Meghan were hoping to work on, including a documentary about the late Princess Diana and one aboout Africa.

The couple stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, and now reside in California with their son, Archie, 6, and daughter, Lilibet, 4.
