Official Poster for Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’. Totally unrelated, but what are the worst movie posters you’ve ever seen?

that one ghostly tree in the back is going to make me piss myself why are they stuck in the void!!! my god there have been some terrible versions of this book but this is hands down going to be the worst

You’ll never be able to convince me that her character isn’t at least 10 years older than him

    3. not looking forward to this but I love this poster design in the sense that its kitchsy and reminds me of 70s and 80s bodice rippers/pulp novels. I dont think that vibes necessarily with WH, but I like that irs making a resurgence (see Bluebeards Castle by Anna Biller)

Oooooh it’s all done up like a vintage romance novel cover. I hope it’s glorious smut.

okay the more I learn about this adaptation the more confident I become that this is all some kind of postmodernist trolling

    6. This is obviously an homage to movies from another era. It’s not a bad poster at all. I’m glad to see a filmmaker doing something interesting.

    7. Well, that does it. My husband is going to need to hatewatch this in a theater like we did with Cats

Plain, but I don’t think it’s THAT bad for a teaser poster.

Surprised at the overwhelming hate directed at this movie when everyone ate up Saltburn from the same creative team.

Why is she making Wuthering Heights immediately after Saltburn? That’s like Mel Brooks making an actual Star Wars movie immediately after Spaceballs.

Wtf? When did this happen? Aren’t they both too old to play the parts, and isn’t Heathcliff a brown man?

The TikTok girlies are going to eat this [literal] shit up. I need Fennell to find a new hobby.

    12. This falls into the category of “just because it’s allusive doesn’t mean it’s good”

    13. I’m unsure how to feel about this whole thing (I’m a Fennell fan, but do we need ANOTHER wuthering heights? No!) but there is something about this that is scratching some kind of throwback itch. Something about the framing and expressions of the actors. I’m still quite skeptical, and I hate to admit this, but Elordi is giving a bit of Heathcliff with the side of his face, surprise surprise.

My first reaction was “oh no”.

Wonderful book, many great quotes. I’m terrified about this adaptation not only being bad but also but popular

    15. I actually love it except for the fact that it looks like he’s holding a beheaded Margot Robbie. I’ve never actually read the book so maybe her character gets decapitated at some point? idk sound off in the comments
