Former royal butler Grant Harrold has had a rare insight on Kate Middleton and Prince William’s love story.
“Harrold, who served as a butler to King Charles from 2004 to 2011, when he was Prince of Wales, saw firsthand how Kate was welcomed into the royal family as William’s girlfriend.
Reunion That Changed EverythingIn 2008, a year after the separation, Harrold remembered being responsible for a particularly significant dinner. His task was to rrange an exclusive evening meal for a couple at the regal estate of Highgrove House. The attendees were Kate and William, who were marking the rekindling of their romance.

Harrold compared the Wales pair’s love to that which happened between the late Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip: “When you saw them together and see them get on as friends, although they were in love, they are also absolutely best friends,” he said. “They were best friends who worked together as a team.”
