Channing Tatum Shares Side Effect of Extreme Weight Loss for Roofman | E! News

Channing Tatum’s recent weight loss came with an unexpected side effect. In an interview with Variety September 2nd, the actor shares he underwent an intense weight loss for his upcoming film Roof Man. A man hunt tonight for an escaped prisoner. Telling the outlet, quote, I had only planned to get down to 185 and then just once I was already going and just the days of shooting, it kept coming off and I got down to like 172. However, the Magic Mike star says the weight loss went handinhand with a decline in his mental well-being. He continues, quote, “It was a sort of emptiness and a sadness to it. I would just see myself and I would seem hollow.” And the movie, “A lot for me was a lot on loneliness and a real meditation for that wanting to be full and trying to fill an empty vessel.” He adds, quote, “That empty feeling sucks after a little while.” However, Channing believes it improved his portrayal of fugitive Jeffrey Manchester in the film. a former United States Army Reserve officer with the actor saying his lived experience helped him in his art.
