Years after moving across the pond, Meghan Markle reveals what she misses most about living in the UK.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, and husband Prince Harry, 40, moved to California in 2020 after stepping back from their royal titles in the British Royal family. They last visited Europe in 2022 for charity work, the same year Queen Elizabeth II died.
“Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the U.K. is the radio station called Magic,” Meghan told Queer Eye star Tan France on season 2 of her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.”
“Magic FM?” France asked. “Wow. Now, um, sorry to say this to you publicly, but that’s such a grandma station.”
Meghan replied, “I’ll be that grandma. My favorite station in my car is called Mom Jeans. These are throwback, great sing-alongs, you forget they existed. I love it.”
She says her kids, Princess Lilibet, 4, and Prince Archie, 6, enjoy the station too. Markle told People, “While it used to be all Kidz Bop all the time in the car. Now, for drop off and pick up, even Lili will say, ‘Can we listen to Mama Jeans?’ I’m like, it’s Mom Jeans, but yes, we sure can!”
Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex primarily raising their kids in the U.S., Markle shared that her son and daughter still have their British roots and say a few words with a London accent.
She shared in episode 6 that her two children “will say a little bit of both” British and American words interchangeably, but “never cooking terms.”
“They both say zeb-rah, though, instead of zebra,” Markle added.
