For royal engagements on both September 4 and September 6, Kate Middleton wore the iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring once worn by her mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
For Thursday’s engagement at the Natural History Museum alongside husband Prince William, the Princess of Wales also added her Welsh gold wedding band, an eternity band, and a sapphire and diamond Cartier ring, the entire stack valued at $527,312.
For Saturday’s outing, the future queen appeared to switch the stack up again, wearing both her sapphire and diamond engagement ring and sapphire and diamond Cartier band.
In addition to debuting new blonder hair for a royal engagement at the Natural History Museum, Kate Middleton also debuted a new ring stack, featuring four distinct pieces in what is believed to be her largest ring stack yet.

In addition to the Princess of Wales’s iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring—which once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana and is valued at roughly $517,000—the future queen also wore her Welsh gold wedding band, valued at around $3,112. Kate added to the stack her Annoushka Eclipse Eternity Band, which What Kate Wore values at $2,200, and a sapphire and diamond band that the fashion site believes to be Cartier’s Etincelle style, which is $5,000. That brings the four pieces in Kate’s ring stack to a value of $527,312.
Kate further accessorized on September 4 with her $1,140 Kiki McDonough Classic Blue Topaz Pear Drop Earrings and a Daniella Draper alphabet necklace with G, C, and L charms for her three kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. That piece is valued upwards of $495, which she paired with Daniella Draper’s Trio Diamond Midnight Moon necklace, valued at $1,800.

She also wore a Ralph Lauren blazer, a white shirt from With Nothing Underneath, Reiss trousers, and Pretty Ballerina loafers to the joint engagement alongside Prince William, What Kate Wore reported.

On September 6, Kate wore black to the England versus Australia match in the Women’s Rugby World Cup, likely as a sign of respect to the late Duchess of Kent, who died on September 4 at 92 years old. She wore a new black Alexander McQueen blazer for the occasion, a white Knatchbull ruffle silk satin blouse that she previously wore to a royal engagement back in May, and black Roland Mouret trousers.

For Saturday’s outing, in addition to debuting what appeared to be darker hair closer to the brunette hue the public is used to, the Princess of Wales switched up her ring stack yet again, this time appearing to wear just her sapphire and diamond engagement ring and her Cartier sapphire and diamond band.

For her surprise appearance alongside William on September 8, the stack appeared to shift again as the Princess of Wales honored the third anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth at the Women’s Institute near her home in Windsor, Adelaide Cottage, which Kate shares with William and their three kids. Sources told The Daily Mail that Kate was “keen to join her husband to commemorate and celebrate the life of the late Queen.”
