Kate Middleton switched back to her brunette hair after sporting blonde locks last week.
The Princess of Wales unveiled her brown hair during a surprise visit to The National Federation of Women’s Institute in Sunningdale alongside her husband, Prince William. The couple was marking the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing. Kate wore her hair down in flowing curls with light brown highlights scattered throughout. The transformation followed fierce online criticism regarding her blonde appearance. Numerous people complained it was “too much hair,” while others speculated whether the new style was actually a wig.
Following the harsh reactions, Kate’s hairstylist Sam McKnight defended her on his Instagram account. Sam previously worked as a hair stylist for the late Princess Diana.

He posted, “I am shocked, horrified, dismayed, and disgusted by all the nasty comments about the Princess of Wales today. A woman’s hair is very personal to her, it’s armor, defense, confidence, and so much more.
“I cannot believe how evil and lacking in any kind of empathy are the comments, the majority made apparently by other women, attacking a vulnerable other young woman, who has no choice, by dint of who she married and the role she took on, to bravely face the public,” he continued.

His tirade concluded with, “She has brilliantly and quietly, unselfishly represented our country, the soft power we still have as a nation. Cancer affects individuals differently, but is life-changing for everyone. So FFS LEAVE HER ALONE. SHAME ON YOU.”
During a visit to the National History Museum, William was seen placing his hand on Kate’s lower back, a gesture that experts interpret as a sign of his unwavering support for her. This type of body language, they say, indicates the couple’s united front, which has become more apparent since Kate’s cancer diagnosis last year.
