Andie MacDowell on the expectation that women should still ‘look young’ as they age: “This concept has demeaned us as we age. It has now made us feel shameful. I have three little grandchildren & I’m gonna be a grandmother for them & I’m gonna look like I’m supposed to look, because I love myself.”

Im sorry but someone here spilled a lot of tea on that family and I can’t go back lmao but she is right
I would just die to have her hair.
It is obviously a great message but looking like THAT at 67 is just trolling 😂
I wish my mom could see this. She’s a Boomer and because she wants to be forever young, she has missed most of my daughter’s life. We live on opposite coasts, but my mom could afford to travel. Instead, we FaceTime on birthdays and holidays so she can wear a hat to cover her roots and a scarf to cover her naturally loosening neck.
I love Andie (and her daughter Margaret Qualley). This is so true. The pressure to look young despite age is literally pitting women against nature and time, one of the universe’s most fundamental forces. You’re set up to fail and then judged for it.
I completely agree.
Think about this every time you say some celeb hasn’t aged when you know they’ve been having facelifts since their 30’s.
Well Andie has the bone structure of a goddess so easy for her to say. BUT I generally agree. I think there’s a middle road with plastic surgery and too many women are doing too much to turn back the clock. How many posts on here are now just “_____ stuns in new face”?
She has always looked AMAZING and is the picture of aging gracefully. That skin!!
Andie’s message is spot on. That video is also heavily filtered. Two things can be true at once.
