Bruce Willis’ Wife Emma Considered Divorce Before Dementia Diagnosis | E! News

Bruce Willis’s wife, Emma, says she considered divorce before his dementia diagnosis. Emma Heming Willis details the difficult spot she and the Diehard actor were in ahead of his fronttotemporal dementia diagnosis in November 2022. In fact, at one point she considered filing for divorce from her husband, who she had been married to since 2009. She recalls in an interview with Vanity Fair published September 5th, “I felt like my marriage was crumbling.” adding that she noticed Bruce, now 70, was acting differently during that time, which had her thinking, “What is going on? This is not the person that I married. Something is just so off.” Looking back at that difficult time isn’t easy for Emma, who notes, “It’s so hard right now for me to tap into that time of our life.” As for their relationship now, while Emma explained that being Bruce’s caregiver and overseeing the team of professionals who help look after him, something she used to do on her own, has provided her with the space to feel like his wife again. The nature of their dynamic has inherently shifted. She tells the outlet, “It doesn’t even feel like this husband and wife thing. We’re almost past that. I don’t know what you call this, but it’s something else. I just feel very connected to him, and I don’t know what that label would be. It’s just deeper. He’s my person. [Music]
