Just this week I’ve been seeing videos about resellers charging up anywhere from $10K-$1M per seats while fans are complaining about being shut out. No concert should be that expensive.
I believe she’s sincere about this – she’s one of the few artists who’s actually disabled Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing and ensured tickets for this tour were sold at face value.

Event tickets should only be allowed to be resold at face-value. That would be an instant end to the problem.

I’m sorry, is that a typo? 1.000.000 US dollars for a concert ticket???

She can’t be just discovering this issue now, it sounds like she waited until she was facing the possibility of too many empty seats to do anything about it

Let’s clarify this. No one is spending a million on a seat.
A nose bleed level seat to one of her tours ( literally the worst seat in the stadium) was listed for $1.3 million on a resell platform
This was then removed by the site and the price changed to $4000
These seats are about $75 usually.

1M for seats is diabolical. WHO has that kind of spendable money???? in this economy??? resellers are delusional

I would love for a solution to this problem, because concert tickets are insane for artists doing stadium or arena tours.
And those artists who are choosing to use dynamic pricing are not helping (she is NOT using dynamic pricing!).

They are already being resold at extreme amounts. She’s a week late on this.

Wait. Her management team and everyone on the planet knows this is an issue. She has the right to limit resale to face on TM as a fan exchange requirement. Artists often elect not to because they participate in resale. TM has entire teams that work with aritsts to talk about maximizing resale and secondary market profits for both themselves and artists. If she didn’t know, she should fire her management team. It’s offensive to us to suggest this is news to anyone in 2025.

I’m glad that she seems to actually want to do something about this but she could’ve opted into face value resale the same way she opted out of dynamic pricing. As a fan that has never been able to see her and was 34,000 deep in the queue both for presale and general sale, the demand is just WAY too high. Stopping the scalpers unfortunately won’t free up enough tickets for everyone to have a fair chance. Selfishly, I wish she had more shows in more cities available but maybe that’s because I’m in Southern California and there are literally hundreds of thousands people potentially wanting tickets to the LA shows.

Ditch Ticketmaster

I believe she’s being sincere, but also- this was entirely predictable and if there are solutions they’re working towards, why couldn’t have those measures been put into place initially?

I haven’t bought any tickets on Ticketmaster etc for awhile. Is there a toggle they can hit that does not allow any ticket transfers whatsoever? Is that an option? That way people would literally have to sell their accounts. I suspect scalpers will do that but it would be more cumbersome, no?

When did we stop using capitals and periods correctly?

This is the reason why I have great admiration for The Cure. I don’t listen to them as much as other bands, but love going to their concert last fall because the ticket prices were reasonable.

Question as someone who doesnt do concerts, who does and doesnt do dynamic pricing?

Everyone needs to start selling their own tix like Louis did
