#charliehunnam admits taking on serial killer Ed Gein was a “challenge” #emmys
This is my first rodeo at the Emmys. My first time here. And you’re presenting tonight. How excited are you? Very excited. It’s lovely to be invited. It’s a date night. Yeah, a little date night. A little date night. Who are you excited to see tonight? Everyone. I just saw Seth Rogan who I hadn’t seen in 20 years or something which was a delight. And Pedro Pascal I know a little bit. And so a bunch of people I’m excited to see. You are taking on Edge Gem. How do you prepare for a role like that? It was a challenge. I really wanted to challenge myself and do something completely different and um you know stretch as an actor. I was sort of surprised initially when when the offer came to me and you know a little intimidated and then started to do some research and became very intimidated and thought maybe I’d made a mistake cuz it was seemed so impossibly dark and then we found our way in. We found the human being in the center of the monster. It’s not to say that he’s not despicable man, but you know, we managed to make him a human and maybe a little more relatable than I had anticipated initially.
