Who Is Nate Bargatze? What to Know About the Emmys 2025 Host | E! News

Comedian Nate Bargetti is getting ready to make his awards show debut. The stand-up star is hitting the stage at the 77th Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14th. And while he’s new to the award show circuit, he’s certainly no stranger to the spotlight. The Funny Man has been performing comedy since 2002, but had his big breakthrough 15 years later in 2017 when he was featured on Netflix’s The Standups. We’ve been together uh my entire life. Uh, since we started dating when I was like 21, I’m 37 now. Like I went from like my mom to her. So, I don’t even know what it feels like to not have some lady be like, I don’t know if I would do that, you know? Now, he’s the highest grossing comedian in the country, thanks in part to his focus on appealing to a broad audience as a clean, wholesome comic. He’s also hosted Saturday Night Live twice, and his portrayal of George Washington in one sketch quickly became a viral sensation. Let’s confess it feels a little complicated, sir. Why not use meters and kilometers? We will, soldier, but only in certain and popular sports like track and swimming. The Nashville native is already bringing his signature brand of funny to the Emmys, telling Jimmy Kimmel of his plan to help winners keep their speeches short. When when I they told me I was doing this, they were like, “Look, if you can come up with a way to keep everybody’s thank yous to a minimum, so everybody gets 45 seconds. Uh I’m going to donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Club.” When everybody uses their 45 seconds, if someone goes over, we take away $1,000 a second every time they go over. So, I know it’s tough. Before comedian Nate Bargatze was tapped to lead the 2025 Emmys Sept. 14, he helmed six comedy specials, hosted two episodes of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and sold millions of stand-up tour tickets.
