Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon chat Morning Wars season 4 | 9Honey
Yeah, it’s the TV show about a TV show, and it’s become a massive global hit, starring two of our favorites, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who had an all-star cast. Now, the morning show is back with plenty going on for Alex and Bradley as we pick up with the aftermath of the UBA UBN merger as they grapple with conspiracy theories, deep fakes, AI, and their own tumultuous personal lives. It’s all strangely familiar. I spoke with the dynamic duo about season 4 of Morning Wars. [Music] This is a reset. A different company, a different culture. Hi. Hi, Richard. Hello, you two. How are you? Good. Very well. You know, we think of this show as a documentary. Those of us that work in breakfast television here in Australia, it’s a huge compliment. It is a little scary sometimes, though. I was like, “Oh my goodness, they got this part right.” Uh, what a what a joy to work on the show. Jennifer, tell me about uh getting inside Alex’s head again. She’s always so busy, Alex. It’s always I’m always worried about her. Well, that’s where she lives. It’s her happy place being busy and overworking. She definitely has entered into a position at the network that’s, you know, she’s entered into the sea suite as she sort of plotted to have this happen at the end of season three. Three. three season three, right? Yeah. So confusing. She’s, you know, now in a position of the of have of of taking on this role that’s not as easy as she anticipated and decisions that she has to make that are not as easy to make. Um, a lot of internal struggles. Oh, it’s Lady Guillotine. How many heads rolled today? Do you know how badly I wish I could fire you? I’m working on a story. UVA was involved in a cover up. People died. Work with me. It’s a wonderful se season that we get to sort of watch unfold. Um, we get to meet Alex’s father this year. Um, try to take a peek behind what made her why does she tick the way she ticks and that’s quite informative and wonderful. And it was so great for me to be able to play opposite Jeremy Irons who comes on and plays my father. It’s quite a roller coaster ride this season. Lot of we hit a lot of topics. Jeremy Irons is just an inspired piece of casting. I just loved seeing him there so much. I did it again. We’re like acting in unison. It’s as if we’re synchronized interviewing. We’re synchronized interview. We say hello and goodbye the same way. To get what you want, you need to burn the house down. I know what I deserve and it’s my time now. Reese, one of the great things about this is it’s so topical. You know, the deep fake, the AI, the Olympics, you know, the election. I mean, it could be ripped from the front pages of the of today’s papers, I reckon. Right. Yeah, whether it’s AI and deep fakes or it’s geopolitical conflict, uh we get to go there and then also have all these great sort of relationships and fights and love affairs and it’s a very entertaining show. I’m shutting the story down. I have to do this whether you like it or not. Do you realize what you’ve done? Someone’s really trying to set me up. Dig out where the bodies are buried. Ree, I haven’t seen the last couple of episodes. They wouldn’t send it to me. What can you tell me about where Bradley ends up at the end of season 4? I will say you have no idea. It’s so surprising. No idea. It shocked me when I read the scripts. I had no clue. Made me uncomfortable and nervous for her. Really nervous. Wow. She might be in even bigger trouble than she was at the end of season 3 if you can believe it. Hard to believe. I can’t believe it. Well, that was quite the cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the end of this and can’t wait for season 5 and into the future. Thank you both so much. Good to see you. Thank you. Thank you. And we’ll keep providing the source material. And look, I just I just have to point out that Mimi Leader and Charlotte Stout, who wrote the show, spent a lot of time here in Australia and have told me many times that they used to watch this show religiously, which maybe explains in their what’s that? In their title sequence, a very familiar doy just coincidence? I think not. Uh, meantime, season 4 of the documentary series Morning Wars lands on Apple TV Plus on Wednesday, a couple of days time. It’s incredible.
