Boys & Girls CEO Reacts to Nate Bargatze’s $350,000 Donation | E! News
Nate Bargett’s Emmys bit results in a big payout. While the hosts plan to get winners to keep their speeches short, promising to donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, but threatening to take away $1,000 for every speech that went over may not have panned out the way he wanted. With the total hitting negative60,000, Nate had a backup plan. Towards the end of the night, he confirmed that CBS would be donating $100,000 to the organization and that he’d personally put in $250K. And following the $350,000 donation, the president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of America says the contribution was incredible, sharing in a statement to EN, “Our heartfelt thanks to Nate, CBS, and the Emmy Awards team for supporting Boys and Girls Clubs in such a big way. It was a true honor for our club kids to share the stage with the night’s winners, especially knowing some of our alumni have gone on to become Emmy winners themselves. Indeed, after Nate announced his play on stage, the camera cut to Boys and Girls Club alum JB Smooth, who was seated in the audience with two young members of the organization. Jim continues, “We are also deeply grateful to all who kept their speeches short in the spirit of this fun challenge and to maximize the impact for our young people. The generous $350,000 donation from CBS and Nate is a powerful investment in the dreams and great futures of millions of young people nationwide. [Music]
