Emmys 2025: Biggest snubs and flubs — ‘The White Lotus’ shut out

The Emmy goes to I really hope you win. Traml Tilman Severance. Excuse me, that’s Treml Tilman to you, Jason Baitman. The Severance star won his first Emmy on Sunday night. And maybe starting now, people will learn how to pronounce his name. But it wasn’t the only awkward moment. And Page Six has all the biggest flubs, snubs, and upsets of the 77th Prime Time Emmy Awards. Host Nate Betty got tripped up introducing the Golden Girls musical tribute. Please welcome Reeba McIntyre and Little Big Town’s Carrie Fairchild Fairchild. Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman. That country diva’s name is Karen Fairchild, not Carrie Fanchchild. It’s ironic for Nate Baretti, whose last name is often butchered. In fact, he joked about it with Steven Colbear back in June. Do I get it right? Nate Bargetti. Right. Bargeti. Even though it’s an A, you say Baretti. Baretti. I think we say it wrong, too, as a family. Col Bear was one of the night’s big upsets. The Late Show won its first Emmy for Outstanding Talk series despite or perhaps because of the recent CBS cancellation news. It beat out the winner of the past two years, The Daily Show. Other upsets included Britt Lauer of Severance beating Matlocks Kathy Bates for outstanding actress in a drama. Bates was favored to win and at the age of 77, she’s the oldest nominee ever in the category. The pit’s Katherine Lenasa also surprised TV viewers with her win, besting fan favorite Carrie Overall, The White Lotus was shut out on Sunday night. Seven actors were nominated and none won. In 2023, Jennifer Culage won for playing the ill- fated Tanya McCoy Hunt in season 2 of the Buzzy series. Creator Mike White won three Emmys in 2022. However, this year, The Pit on HBO Max was crowned best drama. Apple TV’s new series, The Studio, won for best comedy, and Netflix’s Adolescence won for limited series.

That’s Tramell Tillman to you. Emmys presenter Jason Bateman mispronounced the “Severance” star’s name while announcing that Tillman had won his first Emmy on Sunday night.
