Kate Middleton, King Charles III Share Heartwarming Moment at Funeral | E! News

    You might have missed the heartwarming moment between Kate Middleton and King Charles after the Duchess of Kent’s funeral. Following the Catholic Mass for the Duchess of Kent on September 16th, the royal family members gathered on the steps outside Westminster Cathedral. And just before Prince William’s father, King Charles III, went to his car to depart, the Princess of Wales, said goodbye to him with a kiss on each cheek before offering a quick curtsy while keeping her arm on his shoulder. The Duchess of Kent, also named Catherine, was married to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, the first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. She died on September 4th at the age of 92 at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family. As for King Charles and Kate, the two have developed even more of a bond since sharing similar health battles in recent years. The king announced in February 2024 that he had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, and a month later, Kate revealed her own battle with the disease. Shortly after, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said his majesty was quote so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did. In fact, the rep noted to NBC News at the time, Charles remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks, adding that both the king and his wife, Queen Camila, would continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time.     1. It is nice to see a softer loving relationship between the monarch and the family, with just enough tradition and respect for the crown tossed in. I understand the late Queen and her formality, she grew up and lived in a different time, so no disrespect. But I do enjoy a family being family.
