Donald Trump showed his true feelings about Prince William as he discussed the future monarch with King Charles. The President is presently in the UK for his historic second state visit.

He is being welcomed by the King and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle in Berkshire. Both Mr Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are scheduled to participate in a state banquet at Windsor this evening (September 17).

Mr Trump was received with a military guard of honor and mounted troops upon his arrival in Windsor, having spent the previous night at the US ambassador’s residence in London. He was welcomed by the King and Queen along with William and Princess Kate.

Based on lip reader Jeremy Freeman’s analysis, it was a conversation between Mr Trump and the King that revealed his opinions about 43-year-old William.

While gesturing toward the Prince of Wales, Mr Trump was observed telling the King: “He’s like you, somebody who can open up all the global connections and make things happen and I’ll say he’s a good man and if you want something he’s a good guy.”

The Republican leader is then reported to have addressed William, whom he previously encountered in France last year, saying: “You look fantastic.”

Mr Trump is believed to be a longtime supporter of the Royal Family, having formerly commended William and Kate. In December Mr Trump characterized the father-of-three as a “good-looking guy”.

In a conversation with the New York Post, he remarked: “He looked really, very handsome last night. Some people look better in person. He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”

Mr Trump and William reportedly engaged in a 40-minute conversation during the official reopening of the Notre-Dame cathedral. Their discussion primarily revolved around the UK/US relationship and various global issues.

The president ended the meeting by expressing his belief that William is a “good man”. It’s said that Mr Trump’s fondness for the Royal Family was inherited from his Scottish mother, Mary Trump, who allegedly maintained a scrapbook filled with photos of Queen Elizabeth and her sister, Princess Margaret.

Upon arriving at Windsor, Mr Trump is scheduled to visit the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II in St George’s Chapel later today before a Beating Retreat. This military spectacle will feature 200 musicians performing a rendition of Beating Retreat on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle.

Originating from the early years of organized warfare, the ceremony symbolizes the end of the day when camp gates were closed and ceremonial flags were lowered. Tonight, the Royal Family will host the Trumps at Windsor Castle for a state banquet.

Both Mr. Trump and the King are expected to deliver speeches before the national anthems of the USA and UK are performed. Prior to this, there will be a flypast by the Red Arrows and UK and US F-35 military jets – marking the first time the two have performed together.
