Blake Lively Keeps Pushing “Secret Witness” — But Does It Even Matter?
A lot of shocking Blake and Justin news has come in. We brought Ron Zambrano back to break it all down. [Applause] [Music] Welcome to Popcorn Planet. I am Andy Signor. So honored to have Ron Zambrano back. How are you doing, sir? I’m doing great, Andy. Thanks for having me on again. Always appreciate you fitness in. Let’s get right to it because I know you got limited time. I I want to start with this mystery witness. We’re going to talk about this mystery witness, some Taylor stuff, as well as the new lawyers. I want to get your perspective on all this new information. this mystery witness has come forward. This declaration we we talked about at the end of the last video were here basically how you know he requested that Justin not be on set and he felt he was he had negative interactions and verbal abuse. Uh apparently it wasn’t it ends with us is what TMZ is reporting and other outlets. Uh now a new document’s coming in uh and perhaps you can help explain uh from uh Blake’s side basically trying to like keep this person anonymous. Is this going to work? Does this does this mystery even matter? Uh if this person had previous experience that wasn’t on it ends with us set. What is your reaction on this and what do you think is going to happen? Um these are great questions. So I think what’s important for the public to understand is that the attorneys most likely got an unredacted version of the declaration. And uh the significance of filing a a a redacted version of the declaration means that there’s like this unspoken rule that is a hard and fast rule that unless the court okays it, what is redacted cannot be exposed to the public. That being said, if the court does not rule after it is filed, if the court does not rule that it can remain redacted or sealed, however you want to call it, then by operation of law, which which is another way of saying by default, it has to be either stricken for the record or filed with an unredacted version of the form. So, this is something that’s very common, you know, because you need to get something in and you need to file it and you may not have a chance to get permission first, but you have to ask permission later or else you wave it and it has and then bad things happen. Um, so what this is is just the uh lively attorneys going, “Okay, we know we give this we gave this declaration without your uh permission initially, but now we’re asking permission permission to protect this person’s identity by keeping things redacted.” Um, and which is what you know I I I don’t I don’t see what what I don’t see is a declaration or or reference to a declaration from the from the actual declarant going this is my fear. This is why it’s a reasonable fear other than the speculation which not to interrupt we as creators had to do. Judge Lyman didn’t give a crap about some of the creators who weren’t public figures who had anonymous channels being doxed by Blake Lively’s lawyers. I mean, it’s kind of ridiculous her trying to protect this source, which she’s using for media attention. Clearly, she talks about it, which I believe she’s using to her benefit, right? How how can this witness just be sort of kept in the dark all this time? And then it’s like kind of like, well, if they testify or it’s like she’s absolutely used this as another person has come forward, doesn’t he have a right to defend himself? Absolutely. Um, yes, I I agree with you and we talked about it later. what’s because we don’t because of redacted verb what is not redacted kind of goes like this doesn’t really matter there’s so like you know I would say about quarter of it is redacted so what is that stuff and why does it all have to be redacted to protect the identity of the person um so maybe half now that you brought it up but um so yeah so contentwise yes I agree but again I’m sure Baldon has an unredacted version of this and they know who this is and they know who what this all says is there aren’t making a big stink about it because it’s probably a fight they’ll win later that this doesn’t have to do with anything which we initially said because it doesn’t from what we can read it doesn’t really like okay he’s mean all right what does it have to do with whether or not he’s sexually harassed like right or retaliated that’s my point so does any of this really matter it does feel like she’s once again using the court to sort of put out theories and let it be out there and simmer in the press for her benefit which she’s accusing Justin of doing but she’s clearly doing as well no yeah so something we’ve talked about Freriedman did and I think she is Lively’s attorneys are doing it now. This is also probably um the only way this particular declarant would have even signed the declaration going like you have to guarantee me that you’re going to do everything possible to keep me anonymous and this is probably an upholding of that promise because after that they can go like well now it’s up to the judge and we’ve done everything we can. That’s that’s another uh option. I want to talk Taylor Swift because in my perview this seemed like a mistake like a like they did not do a good job in this Taylor Swifting. Maybe there really wasn’t there, but they were able to kick up enough suspect to think that there was something here. But now Taylor’s team is supposed I mean, you tell me what seems true in this that they only found out a few days before. Uh she only just heard about this 3 days ago. Uh she will she did not agree to deposition, but if she’s forced into it, she can and then she gives sort of these dates of where she is available. Uh given her work schedule, uh the judge did not. So then Wayfair asked for a delay and said, you know, she gets available then, can we do? And the judge is like, no, you’ve had 6 months. I mean, a lot of people want to be bad mad at Lyman, but I feel like you made a good point. Uh, do you believe this? Do you think there’s something behind this that we’re not seeing to benefit Wafer, or do you see this like I do, and this was kind of they took too long and this is a mistake? I think it’s both. Um, because Lively did get an extension for her um request to do the to finish off a couple depositions in the in the 10 days or whatever that that they ended up getting. The the problem is this. Um, Lively was able to show that we just got like almost 100,000 documents and we need to figure this out and finish our discovery. It’s not our fault we got stuff late with you don’t have that kind of um reasoning or excuse, let’s call it, by the freedom attorneys. They’re just like, “Well, we wanted to get it in on time. She’s not available, so can we please extend it till she is available?” Most of the time that will be granted in my experience because you’re dealing with a global celebrity who probably you know had you can’t force them to show up. So this might be one of those instances. Andy remember I told you I was afraid for Freriedman because he was filing these things that the judge told him before don’t file things like this and you’ll need the you know the judge’s goodwill later on. I think it bit him in the butt here because it is very strange that um a a witness who was timely noticed that is not available by no fault of their own of the party that there’s not one exception right you can only do one thing past the cutoff and you only get six hours past the cut off and do it on the day that I know is available within the discretion of the judge you could say no and this is one of those things that I was afraid later on by what Freriedman did with those initial filings that the judge did get mad at that he was going to lose the, you know, the goodwill of the judge and bite him later. And I think this is it. What do you think’s actually happening with this? Because they claim they dropped the subpoena right before they weren’t going to deposition her. They said, and the and the rumors were, “We got what we wanted.” And then it’s like, well, what did you get is what the big question mark is. The judge did deem that the texts are relevant. So, do you think they got them and they’re just holding that? Do you think they didn’t get them? Can they still depose her? That’s the other question of they still have some time here. Can she literally say, “No, I told you the dates I’m available. You didn’t give me enough notice.” And then she’ll What do you think the next step is? They unless she says, “I really am available before the 30th or the the date of the trial the cuto off that that deposition cannot go forward. She can be called at trial later and you know, everybody gets to hear what she says then. um that can happen, but she cannot be deposed past the the the cuto off date and whether she’s available or not because of Baldon’s um doing now is irrelevant based on what the judge says. To answer your other question about why why wait, you know, what is this four months later? Um, that’s a great question, Andy, and it might have to do with what they thought the significance of the text messages isn’t as important now as it meant back in May. And they probably go, you know, we really do need to take her deposition for things that she needs to explain or else we won’t know until the day of trial, which is always a danger in front of a jury. Uh, you know, when you’re doing it live, you don’t want to ask a question you don’t already know the answer to in trial because it could bite you. Absolutely. Now, that echoing sort of the changing of teams, they just added Alexandra Shapiro, who’s no joke, was helped Diddy, I I feel like, get less charges. Uh she’s done a lot of really uh serious case law. One of the people in her office worked for Lyman specifically. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this is a smart move? Is she a good attorney? Do you think this will help them? And why do you think they picked her? Shapi is obviously an incredible attorney. Um, I think they picked her for her to lead things to prepare for trial, which this signals to me this case is not going to resolve. This signals to me that this is going to go to trial. And they’re bringing on someone who not just for her name, but she’s incredibly skilled as a trial attorney, preparing a narrative, preparing opening statements that Freriedman is probably still very good at. But this is the thing. You are now having a female that’s going to go cross-examine the female plaintiff. And that is a good tactical move. Yeah, indeed. And so do you think Blake and Ryan are getting nervous? Could this be a tactic to try to get them to settle? It could be. It could be a tactic. But I, you know, somebody like um Ryan Reynolds who in all instances he’s a very powerful guy with a lot of money probably doesn’t care. He probably doesn’t care. Maybe Lively is more scared than than than her husband, but I don’t think he cares. I don’t think he cares about this at all. I think he’s like, “Let’s go for broke. I don’t care. I have lots of money. you know, my four houses and there’s heated pools will always be that regardless of this. So depressingly a waste. Final thought because I know you got to go who’s winning now. I always like to ask you where do you think this is headed? Does this help you give a point to some one side or the other? This is definitely going towards lively here. Not allowing a party to take depositions of who they want to is a big hit. It is a big big hit. And I’m I think it’s something Freriedman unintentionally upset the judge for the judge to be like, I’m not giving you any leeway cuz you pissed me off before. That’s my opinion. There it is. BL had to use verbal abuse because there's no receipts whatsoever.
Gosh this is so tiring. I really think the judge will side with Blake on all.
I honestly hate hate this case but its addicting 😂
Liman refusing to grant a singular exception for one single deposition of, arguably, one of the most famous people in the world is evidence that he's corrupt and biased. Great grounds for appeal. He's intentionally hamstringing the WP.
I’m sorry that’s BS that they extend things for BL and don’t extend things for Justin. I would appeal appeal, appeal, limen up and down because he is way by us to one side over the other. Everybody can see that other attorneys can see that that are neutral it’s just ridiculous. One side has to follow by the rules, but the other side doesn’t.
what a joke of a justice system does the most powerful country in the world have! so he's suggesting judges don't made decisions based on the law but on emotion. if you piss him off, he'll decide against you. scary!
Sad, IMO Ryan doesn’t care and will keep pushing because he is not the one in the hot seat.
So the judge is biased because doesn't like Freedman?
Seems to me that narcissist are always worried about themselves! With Marvel ready to drop him and his comments to Levy it shows! The trial isn’t until March that I think it was beneficial to Wayfarer that the deposition didn’t take place… if anything was leaked and could’ve been a tactical move for BL to accuse leaks then it could’ve been thrown out!! The judge should be replaced!!
It’s always great info when Ron is on. Thanks Andy
Unless her surprise witness is Jesus Christ himself, no one matters at this point. She has zero, nada, none, zilch. She looks insane and has only proven Justin's case of innocence.
No client should be responsible for their lawyer not being popular with the judge. I hope they are using all this for an appeal.
They did not have the TS text messages 6 months ago. JB should have given a better explanation.
Freedman never had the good will of the judge. Period. Blake has requested and gotten several extensions, and changes of venue, etc. Wayfarer has also asked, and been denied each time (ie, fire in LA). And Blake's team invented the midnight document dump, which Wayfarer had to deal with, each time, without an extension.
I’m always here for Ron!
I am now of the belief that Blake Lively LOVES all the attention she gets regardless of how negative it is. She is starring in the movie of HER LIFE and it definitely is going to end with her. The movie started off as drama and is ending as a B GRADE HORROR MOVIE.
Judge LEMON needs to be cancelled.
❤❤❤
What initial Freedmans filings did the judge get mad at?
So basically Slimy Lieman is just another delusional BL ok got it. 😂 Both teams done the same thing in the Press, but BL’s team done worse. I don’t think Slimy Lieman is fit to be a judge if his ego is this fragile and he is this bias/corrupt. It’s good that Perez called this Slimy Lieman out in his own circus to the whole world that Slimy Lieman is biased. I know that every single person that been watching this case can see through this biased and corrupt judge Slimy Lieman.
Pure and simple the judge is bias toward Blake. Why else would he stop Taylor's deposition which I'm sure would help Justin's case.
Mistery witness is her other personality called Rashonda. 😂
It’s odd Ron Zambrano didn’t mention the appeal / Shaprio’s appellate expertise. Seems like the hire was more re NYT
I really have no qualms about this case because she's already lost in the court of public opinion and that's what matters most…
All you swifties need to bombard her with backlash fornnot being who she portrays herself as. She qants everyone to believe she is a social justice, for the truth, american sweetheart.
Anyone who has believed that needs to tell her this is exactly why those of us that have seen through her act for years stopped supporting her.
Her still fans needs to call her out for protecting a mean girl. You are the company you keep and now her distance is only to try to protect herself… not because she is any dofferent from bully lively.
I feel like the secret witness is RR hahaha prove me
Wrong hahaha
The judge is just a good friend of the plaintif.
In my opinion this judge is and has been bias. Anyone not on b…tch team is on the wrong side of this judge.
BF never had the goodwill of the Judge to begin with, in my unbotlike opinion
