Melania Trump expressed curiosity about Kate Middleton’s family life, inquiring about her children during her husband’s momentous state visit to the UK. Lip reader Jeremy Freeman shed light on the interaction between Melania and Kate outside Victoria House in Windsor earlier today.

The friendly exchange took place shortly after US President Donald Trump, aged 79, and First Lady Melania, 55, stepped off Marine One helicopter.

A lip-reading expert caught a glimpse of Trump’s awestruck three-word comment to Kate, aged 43, before disclosing what Melania asked the Duchess moments later. Stay updated with all the developments from the historic state visit by following our live coverage.

Melania was seen asking: “How about you, how are the children?” according to the lip reader’s interpretation.

Kate, mother to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, responded: “They’re very well, they’ve just started back in school now so settling in again.”

Melania, who is also a parent to 19-year-old Barron Trump, replied with “that’s great” and then Kate reciprocated the interest, asking: “How about yours?”

Unfortunately, the remainder of their conversation was lost as the camera panned away.

Jeremy also analysed another part of the discussion, where Kate asked Melania about what she thought about Windsor Gardens. Showing her true feelings, Melania said: “Absolutely superb, really love it, I love the greenery and the wildlife.”

Following this warm interaction, the King and President Trump shared a carriage for a procession through the Windsor Estate, showcasing an array of ceremonial splendour. Meanwhile, Melania accompanied Queen Camilla in another coach.

Charles and Trump were seen laughing, with the American leader expressing his gratitude “thanks very much” on multiple occasions following a ceremonial guard of honour.

The Trumps touched down at Windsor at 12.14pm, arriving 20 minutes behind schedule.

This afternoon, the couple are anticipated to place a wreath at Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb, for whom the president held tremendous admiration.

A lavish state banquet followed, where both Trump and Charles are set to deliver addresses.

Tomorrow’s agenda promises to intensify politically, as Trump travels to the Prime Minister’s official country retreat in Buckinghamshire for discussions with Keir Starmer and his spouse.

The pair are scheduled to examine the Sir Winston Churchill archives before attending a gathering with the Chancellor.

A media briefing is anticipated afterwards, and while Trump fulfils his official duties, Melania will remain at Windsor Castle for extended time with the Queen and Kate.
