    1. Title: The Summer Jeremiah Stopped Waiting

(An Alternate Epilogue to Season 3)
The one this story deserved instead of the rushed nonsense in the last 10 minutes

      Summary:
Jeremiah deserves more than being “the almost.” In this alternate epilogue to The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3, Jeremiah finds closure with Belly, takes the first real steps toward his own dreams, and finally opens the door to a forever love of his own.

      Epilogue

Cousins Beach was quieter now, the hum of cicadas soft in the background. Jeremiah stood on the porch, leaning against the railing, a glass of sweet tea sweating in his hand. He watched the tide come in, the same way he always had since he was a boy. But this summer felt different — lighter, like he was finally exhaling.

Belly stepped outside, her hair catching the evening breeze. Conrad wasn’t far behind, but she lingered, looking at Jeremiah the way only someone with years of shared history could.

      “Hey,” she said softly.

Jeremiah gave her a small smile. “Hey, Bells.”

For a moment, they just stood there, listening to the waves. Then Belly spoke, her voice careful but steady. “I don’t want us to leave things unsaid. You deserved more than the way things ended. You’ve always deserved more.”

He set the glass down, turning to face her fully. His blue eyes carried warmth, not bitterness. “We loved each other in our own way. But you choosing Conrad… it’s okay. Really. You made the choice that felt true to you. And I need to make choices that are true to me, too.”

Belly’s throat tightened. “You’ll always matter to me, Jere.”

He reached out, brushing her shoulder gently. “And you to me. Always. But it’s time I stop being the boy waiting on the porch. Time I start being the man who walks his own road.”

The words hung in the air like a promise. And for the first time, Jeremiah felt free.

Weeks later, he found himself back in Boston, sleeves rolled up in a bustling kitchen. He had taken a job with a local chef who believed in his raw talent and sunny charisma. The heat of the stoves, the clatter of plates, the thrill of creating something that made people smile — it lit him up from the inside.

One evening, after service, Denise stopped by. They laughed over burnt bread and clumsy knife skills, but Jeremiah knew their story wasn’t a forever one. She was moving to San Francisco with Steven soon, and their paths were meant to cross only for a while. He hugged her goodbye without regret.

Because that same week, a new face joined the kitchen — someone with sharp wit, a love for the ocean, and a way of seeing Jeremiah not as Conrad’s brother, not as Belly’s almost, but simply as Jeremiah. They stayed late after shifts, swapping stories and dreams, and for once, Jeremiah didn’t feel like he was in someone else’s shadow. He was stepping into his own light.

The following summer, back at Cousins, Jeremiah returned not with heartbreak, but with hope. He cooked for the family on the porch, laughter spilling into the night. Belly and Conrad stole glances, Steven and Taylor teased each other, Laurel and Adam sat comfortably at the table, and Susannah’s spirit felt close — not haunting, but blessing them.

Jeremiah looked around at the people he loved, the people he’d always fight for. Then he caught the gaze of the person sitting beside him — someone who had come not from his past, but from his future — and for the first time, Jeremiah realized he wasn’t waiting anymore.

He had found where he belonged.
