This is trust, with the couple both sceptical of Harry since he made various comments about the Royal Family over the last five years, both on the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, and in his memoir Spare.
The source told US Weekly: “There is still ongoing tension with William and Kat. They are deeply hurt by the public disclosures, memoir revelations and interviews and criticisms of their roles, which they perceive as breaches of trust that require significant time to heal from, which is why they aren’t there yet.
“William and Kate haven’t initiated or responded to outreach from Harry at all. They do need more time. There’s emotional distance between the three of them.”
The source also said that the couple will see Harry again when they can trust him. They are believed to be waiting to see whether Harry spills any information about what he spoke about with his father during their meeting last week, which was the first time the father-and-son had come face-to-face since February 2024.
The source said: “They will see how things pan out with what Charles and Harry discussed.
“One of the things was to keep his mouth shut and not talk to the press, and for Meghan to do the same. Once William and Kate can trust again, they may be able to come back into his life.”
Since Harry moved to Montecito in 2020, he has seen his brother very few times. It is believed the brothers are no longer on talking terms.
Both Prince William and Princess Kate have avoided publicly discussing their relationship with the Duke.
