During Prince Harry’s brief visit to the UK earlier this month, he undertook several engagements, including a trip to see his father King Charles.

The meeting, which lasted around 55-minutes, marked the first time Harry, 41, had seen his father, 76, in nearly two years. Neither side has talked about what was mentioned in the meeting at Clarence House.

Following the conversation between the duo, there was much speculation about whether this could be the first step in Harry potentially returning to the royal fold, nearly three years after the release of his controversial memoir Spare.

However, such speculation has been dampened by reports that this might not be the aforementioned first step, but Charles making his feelings clear on rules for family members.

According to the Times, sources suggest that the monarch intends to follow the position of Queen Elizabeth II, and not let individuals be half in and half out of the Royal Family.

They claimed to the publication: “The King has been absolutely clear in upholding his late mother’s decision that there can be no “half-in, half-out” public role for members of the family.”

Despite alleged dismissal of a potential role for Harry within the Royal Family, his visit to see his father nevertheless raised hopes of a potential reconciliation between the two.

According to the Mail on Sunday’s Charlotte Griffith, there is still a possibility for Harry and Charles to work together in the future as part of a wider warming of relations.

She suggested: “In the strongest indication yet that the Duke of Sussex is making positive steps towards a reconciliation with senior royals, it is understood that courtiers in both households are tentatively discussing how to get father and son together more frequently over the next year, with a view to them finally appearing jointly at a public event.”

Charlotte’s comments came days after Harry was interviewed by the Guardian following his trip to Ukraine, in which he made clear that his focus for the next year would be on his father.

Speaking to the publication he said “the focus really has to be on my dad” before he went on to discuss his future in the UK, a country he has visited more and more in the past two years.

On this, he said: “I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about.

“I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”

With Harry’s relationship towards the UK warming following a successful trip both at home and abroad, one PR expert has commented on how he can build on his recent visit.

Founder of PR agency The Atticism Renae Smith, told the Daily Express: “The best strategy for Harry now is slow and steady. The best strategy for Harry now is slow and steady. If he can keep this up for a year or so, I’d call that a full image reset.”
