Reports have emerged claiming that Prince Harry has enrolled his son, Prince Archie, at Eton College, marking a shocking potential return to UK education.
Unlike his younger sister Princess Lilibet, the young prince was born on British soil on May 6, 2019, and spent his first months residing at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Both Harry and his older brother, Prince William, attended Eton during the 1990s, with Harry having previously shared both positive and negative recollections of his time at the elite institution.
An old school companion of Harry’s has now exclusively disclosed to sources that the Royal has registered his six-year-old son at the prestigious academy, despite the family’s current residence in California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to America in 2020, just one year after Archie’s birth in Britain.
They continued: “For William and Harry, Eton is really the only sensible choice when it comes to British schools because of security. There are so many high-profile and politically exposed kids there that the whole school already has ridiculous security provisions.
“It’s seven-day boarding, lots of kids fly back and forth at the beginning and end of term, so why shouldn’t Archie? The school certainly wouldn’t be prejudiced against him.
“Statistically, you have to imagine Eton would be a hell of a lot safer than an American school thanks to their gun laws.”
Harry has previously expressed his concerns about bringing his children back to the UK. After a recent visit, the Royal hinted that he might consider bringing his son and daughter to his homeland.
He shared with the Guardian earlier this month: “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
