Melanie Griffith is all over the map as she obsesses over every detail of daughter Stella’s upcoming wedding, and sources say she’s driving everyone batty — especially her ex Antonio Banderas, the father of the bride.
“Melanie is a worrier by nature and she’s being a micromanager,” says an insider. “She wants to be very involved in Stella’s big day and all the events leading up to it — she even wants to plan Stella’s honeymoon.”

But sources say that Mask of Zorro star Antonio, 65, wants to put a muzzle on his excitable 68-year-old ex.
“Antonio doesn’t like being woken in the middle of the night just because Melanie has a great idea of what would work for the wedding,” says an insider. “Melanie considers herself the de facto wedding planner, but she’s putting everyone’s back up by meddling nonstop and worrying herself senseless ahead of the big day.”

Actress Stella, 29 — the half sister of Melanie’s daughter with ex Don Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey stunner Dakota Johnson — is marrying entrepreneur Alex Gruszynski in Spain this fall. But sources say that as the big day approaches, Melanie is spinning out of control.
“She’s being way too intense about it all and burning up the phone with every passing notion,” says our insider.
And when Melanie calls Antonio at all hours, she is also undoubtedly waking her ex’s longtime girlfriend Nicole Kimpel.
“Antonio has a nice, quiet, peaceful life with Nicole, and he’s urging Melanie to calm down,” the source adds.

Melanie met Antonio in 1995 on the set of Two Much. And even though she had her heart-shaped “Antonio” tattoo removed in 2023 — replacing it with the names of her four kids, including son Alexander and stepson Jesse — the former Hollywood golden couple has remained on friendly terms ever since their 18-year marriage ended in 2014.
“Melanie doesn’t mean to be annoying,” explains an insider. “She just wants everything perfect for her little girl. Stella’s still her ‘baby.’”
