In January, James shared photographs of another trip to the mountains taken with his brood, one of which showed Inigo already on skis, standing on a snow-capped mountain alongside dogs Mabel and Isla. Others depicted the couple hiking in the sunshine, pulling Inigo along on a sled behind them, and enjoying a well-earned drink at the top of a peak. ‘We were lucky enough to be engulfed by blue skies and cold, crisp air,’ said James in the caption to the post. ‘I can’t believe how quickly Inigo is growing up – in fact that scares me the most… I fear if I blink I will miss it… but like with the dogs, we include him in all of our adventures.’
Little Inigo is not just a keen skiier, but a budding tennis player, too: last year, in an appearance on TV show Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, James disclosed that his son had developed an early interest in the sport, following in the footsteps of the rest of the Middleton family. ‘He loves tennis balls, because there are always tennis balls around,’ James told Titchmarsh during the programme. ‘He likes to throw the balls for the dogs now, so he sits there and chucks the balls in fits of giggles.’
It would seem that Inigo is starting to take after the rest of the Middleton clan: his aunt, Kate Middleton, is an accomplished tennis player and patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and once, while attending Wimbledon with Pippa Middleton and Princess Charlotte in tow, told players that her family enjoys playing the sport as much as watching it. Kate revealed that she’d been ‘filling in the leaderboard’ with Charlotte throughout the tournament, and added that ‘as a family, we play a lot’.
