Emmanuel Macron’s car was stopped at a street blocked off for Donald Trump’s motorcade during his visit to New York for the UN general assembly.
The French president first tried to negotiate with a police officer and then called Trump, saying: ‘Guess what? I’m waiting on the street because everything is frozen for you.’
Macron was eventually able to cross but had to walk for about 30 minutes. Macron recognised a Palestinian state at the UN summit on Monday.
