Kamala Harris Addresses Husband Doug Emhoff’s Affair During His First Marriage

Kamla Harris is breaking her silence on husband Doug Mhof’s previous affair in his first marriage. In July of 2024, a far-right activist posted on X that Doug had an affair with his daughter’s teacher during his marriage to first wife Kirsten Mhof. And in her new memoir, according to InStyle, Kamla brings up the controversy, writing, “Of course I knew about this. Doug had told me about it when we were dating. We disclosed it during my vetting for VP.” She acknowledges that Doug knowingly put himself in the line of fire by marrying her and taking a very public stance by her side, adding, “He handled it like the mench that he is,” issuing a statement taking responsibility and expressing regret. And Kamla mentions the statement Doug’s ex-wife previously released, which says, “Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons many years ago.
