Taylor Swift Shares Inspiration Behind “Luxurious” Life of a Showgirl Album | E! News

We wanted this album to feel like really luxurious um and kind of as a nod to the the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she’s on stage. Taylor Swift is sharing new details about her upcoming album. In anticipation for her 13th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set to hit shelves on October 3rd, the singer reveals the little details the fans can expect with the vinyl in a video shared to the Taylor Nation Instagram on September 20th. The CDs all have photo cards in them. Um, the vinyls, they have they each have uh a poem inside of them, a unique poem. They’ve got like more images than we ever planned to put in there. Um, we chose this really high gloss finish, which I’ve never done before, and I think it looks so cool. All in all, Taylor explains she wants the album to feel quote luxurious and hopes fans will be just as excited as she is. We wanted this album to feel like really luxurious um and kind of as a nod to the the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she’s on stage. Meanwhile, like in the quick change room, she’s like, “Maybe that’s just me. I don’t know.” Um but uh yeah, the the vinyl packaging, the CD packaging, the photographs, the photo cards, it’s all just something I’m very proud of. And it took a lot of time to put together, a lot of concentration, a lot of organization, but hopefully it pays off. I hope I hope the fans are happy. The video comes just days after the singer announced that the album will have a companion project hitting theaters. Taylor writes next to a photo in her showgirl gear. Taylor then explained that viewers would get to catch the world premiere of the music video for her new single, The Fate of Oilia, along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage on how they made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired the music, and the brand new lyric videos from the new album.
