The rest is entertainment podcast also covered this which was the first I’d heard of it. Deeply shameful for all involved but also not surprising in this horrific timeline we’re living in.

“Easy to maintain your integrity when no one’s offering to buy it,” actually goes hard.

I get it, Saudi Arabia is bad and I’m not a fan, but how much worse is this compared to doing a comedy festival in the United States? Last I checked, they’re still using taxpayer money to fund a genocide. Khashoggi’s murder was brutal, but have you heard what the CIA does?

    4. I genuinely would like to know what the payouts are from SA for these individuals because it’s probably absurd. Not that any amount of money excuses participation but know how much they’re throwing around to sanewash their terrible regime has my curiosity. These comics advertise that their integrity is for sale to foreign entities, makes you wonder if this US administration could pay them to shit up

    5. Ironic. America is a white supremacist state built on slavery that is currently participating in a modern holocaust but I dont see any demands to not perform in the States. I would argue that the country he performs in is the root of far more violence across the globe. I’m sure his sentiment comes from a well-intentioned liberal ideology, but how productive can this kind of western chauvanism really be?
