Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s daughter, Violet, is making headlines for her health advocacy work. The 19-year-old appears at the United Nations on September 23rd, delivering a passionate speech to members of the UN about the importance of mask mandates and clean air initiatives after the CO 19 pandemic. Violet, who has been open about her battle with long COVID, argues in her speech that in an effort for society to return back to normal post pandemic, adults have been ignoring, downplaying, and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long CO. Every subsequent infection increases the risk of longco and places people who already have it in greater danger. It is neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, “We knew how to protect you and we didn’t do it. We have access to a technology to prevent airborne disease, something that millions of our ancestors and millions of people around the world today would kill for, and we refuse to use it. While the eldest daughter of Ben and Jen, who split in 2015, has stayed mostly out of the spotlight, she has started to use her famous name in the name of advocating for public health, delivering a passionate speech in July of 2024 to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. She also recently published an academic paper on the Los Angeles County wildfires which happened back in January. [Music]
