Danielle Fishel shares update on ‘DWTS’ injury — and why she turned down doctor’s advice

Keriana Ona said it best. Relax and breathe. Relax and breathe. Do you feel like you could do that now? I mean, I can definitely do it right now. Absolutely. It’s funny because I didn’t think while I was going through the dance that I wasn’t breathing, but then when she said it, I was like, “Yeah, probably wasn’t breathing.” Yeah, probably was holding my breath. Is that a note you give a lot or did that kind of come out of nowhere? Honestly, honestly, no. I think uh there’s just like we’re only on week two and there are so many other things we have to focus on, you know, from choreography to even like figuring out, you know, the ballroom and the schedule and how these things work, you know, camera blockings and everything. So, I think there’s so much that we didn’t even get to breathing yet. We didn’t even get to breathing yet. We didn’t have time to think about breath. We have next week and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Next week will be shoulders and breath work. Perfect. Perfect. You’re taking the notes. I love it. On your podcast, you mentioned that you have been dealing with a little bit of injuries and I know we saw that on live TV tonight a little bit. How is the body holding up? What are you doing for the recovery process? Walk us through that. Okay, so I my I have been doing a lot for the recovery process. I did snap a tendon in my hamstring. Uh it it does not require surgery, which is the greatest news. So my doctor told me he’s going he was like, you know, in an ideal world, you would rest. And I said, “I cannot and I will not. I want nothing can stop me from this.” And he said, “Then I’m going to treat you like you’re in the playoffs.” So, I am currently in the Dancing with the Stars playoffs, and when the playoffs are over, then I will rest. Max is on your podcast. What was the biggest takeaway? He gave some great insight for you. He really gave me some great insight. He’s so smart. I love that he always has an opinion. I truly I’ve been a fan of his forever. He saw me tonight after the after our dance and was super complimentary and congratulatory. Asked how my leg was doing. It was really great. I I’m just I’m going to take all of his knowledge, too. I love it. One word, two T’s. Tik Tok night. First time on Dancing Stars. Bestie. My one of my besties. And we’re going to do a song maybe from one of my best friends. Okay. Okay. I like it.
