Jessica Chastain says she is not aligned with the decision by Apple TV Plus to pause the release of her upcoming streaming series, The Savant, which was supposed to be released this week. According to Apple, the tense and highstakes thriller follows an undercover investigator known as The Savant, as she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act. Apple TV said this week that it would postpone the drama after careful consideration. However, the streaming giant did not elaborate on their decision. It comes in the wake of the killing of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. The Oscar winner, who also executive produced the show, shared a post on Instagram explaining where she stands. I want to say how much I value my partnership with Apple. They’ve been incredible collaborators and I deeply respect their team. That said, I wanted to reach out and let you know that we’re not aligned on the decision to pause the release of the Savant. In the eight-part limited series, Chastain plays a mother of two and a military veteran who works at the Anti-hate Alliance, where she secretly visits message boards posing as a white nationalist. The series, which includes sniper fire and the bombing of a government building, was set to debut this week, but Apple TV postponed it to an unknown date in the future.
