When it comes to fashion, Kate Middleton is known for her love of pairing high street favourites with designer items. And one high street brand she’s a huge fan of is Boden.
The Princess of Wales has worn many pieces from the brand over the years, and one of our favourite items of hers is her pink knit top with a playful scallop neckline. Whilst Princess Kate ’s exact knit has long since sold out (she wore it back in 2021), Boden has launched a new, updated version of the knit – and it’s currently on sale.

Usually priced at £79, the Melina Cotton Ruffle Jumper has now been slashed to £39.50, saving you almost £40. The jumper also features similar details to Princess Kate’s knit, but with a twist that makes it modern for autumn 2025.
Like Kate’s, the jumper comes in a dusky pink colour and features scallop details which give it that playful edge. The main difference is that on the new and updated jumper, the scallop trim lies down around the neckline in a crew neck style, rather than standing up in a high neck design like Princess Kate’s did. The scallop trim is also extended to the cuffs too, which have a gathered detail around the wrists to create a blouson sleeve.

The Melina Cotton Ruffle Jumper is a perfect layering piece for autumn, and a must-have for the in-between weather when it’s too cold for a T-shirt but too warm for a proper chunk knit. The lightweight material keeps you warm without being too hot, and is made from 85% cotton and 15% wool which balances warmth and breathability perfectly.
It also features a relaxed, straight fit that’s easy to wear both over and under other pieces without being too tight or slim fitting, and you can pair it with everything from jeans to wide leg trousers and midi skirts, making it versatile enough to wear throughout all seasons. There’s currently only one review at the moment, which praised: “Love it. Want in black too.”
