Prince Andrew has been named in newly released files relating to Jeffrey Epstein which indicate he was a passenger on the paedophile financier’s jet and received $200 massages.
The heavily redacted documents, released by Democrats sitting on the House Oversight Committee in the US, show Andrew as a listed passenger on a flight from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, in Florida.
The duke is named alongside Epstein, his then-girlfriend and now convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as two names which have been redacted.
The flight is documented to have taken place on May 12, 2000.

Andrew is named on the passenger list.
The documents also show an “Andrew” listed as having a massage on Epstein’s “General Ledger” on 16 May and 11 February 2000. Both appear to be valued at $200.
The Democrat committee said in a statement: “Prince Andrew is listed as a passenger on Epstein’s aircraft, with financial disclosures providing possible evidence of payments from Epstein to masseuses on behalf of an individual identified as ‘Andrew’.”
Details of the duke being a passenger on Epstein’s private jet were previously heard in court through Maxwell’s trial – with one of her accusers, who was 14 at the time, recalling she had travelled on a flight with Andrew.
The duke has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing.
Here, Yahoo News has put together a timeline detailing how Andrew and Epstein’s relationship grew over time.
1999When Andrew says he first met Epstein
In an interview with the BBC’s Emily Maitlis in 2019, Andrew says he first met Jeffrey Epstein through the financier’s girlfriend in 1999.
The broadcaster reported this girlfriend was Ghislaine Maxwell, who Andrew met during their time at the University of Oxford.

A few days after the Newsnight interview, however, a letter from the Duke’s then private secretary, shared with the Times, suggests he was first introduced to Epstein in the early 1990s.
Maxwell has subsequently denied introducing the pair.
Yahoo News has contacted Prince Andrew’s representatives for comment.

Trump has also been dogged by questions about his friendship with Epstein, with the White House recently denying that an alleged birthday letter from him to the late financier is authentic.

The Daily Mirror reported in August 2025 that Andrew welcomed Epstein and Maxwell into the Royal Box, alongside Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother.
Andrew invites Epstein and Maxwell to royal ‘Dance of the Decades’
A souvenir booklet from a royal family party at Windsor Castle, unearthed by DailyMail.com, shows Epstein and Maxwell on the invitation list. This is despite the Duke telling Newsnight that he had invited Maxwell specifically and that Epstein was “the plus one”.

An image published by the Sun in 2019 shows Epstein attending Princess Beatrice’s 18th birthday party on the grounds of Windsor Castle in July.
In his 2019 interview with Newsnight, Andrew was asked why Epstein had been invited in July, when police in Palm Beach Florida had issued an arrest warrant for sexual assault of a minor in May of that year.
“Because I was asking Ghislaine,” the Duke replied. “But even so, at the time I don’t think I… certainly I wasn’t aware when the invitation was issued what was going on in the United States and I wasn’t aware until the media picked up on it because he never said anything about it.”
2010Andrew ‘breaks off friendship’ during days-long stay at Epstein’s home
The Duke of York told BBC Newsnight that he had no contact with Epstein after he was jailed in 2008 for soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution.
However, following the billionaire’s release, Andrew said he went to stay with him in his New York mansion in December 2010.
“I went there with the sole purpose of saying to him that because he had been convicted, it was inappropriate for us to be seen together… I felt that doing it over the telephone was the chicken’s way of doing it. I had to go and see him and talk to him.”

2014Duke first mentioned in Epstein court filings
In December 2014, Prince Andrew was named for the first time in court filings relating to Epstein, in a motion to join the Florida case by a “Jane Doe #3” (understood to be Virginia Guiffre) and “Jane Doe #4”.
It claims Jane Doe #3 was “forced to have sexual relations with this Prince when she was a minor in three separate geographical locations”.
It says she was coerced in London (at Ghislaine Maxwell’s apartment), in New York, and on Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands in an “orgy with numerous other under-aged girls”.
“Epstein instructed Jane Doe #3 that she was to give the Prince whatever he demanded and required Jane Doe #3 to report back to him on the details of the sexual abuse,” the document says.
“Maxwell facilitated Prince Andrew’s acts of sexual abuse by acting as a “madame” for Epstein, thereby assisting in internationally trafficking Jane Doe #3 (and numerous other young girls) for sexual purposes.”
2011Epstein’s loan to Sarah Ferguson
Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, apologises for accepting £15,000 from Epstein to help pay off debts. She described it as “a gigantic error of judgment”. She told the Evening Standard: “I abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children. I am just so contrite I cannot say. Whenever I can, I will repay the money and have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again.”
2015Epstein’s ‘little black book’ made public
Epstein’s book of contacts, referred to as his ‘little black book’ was first published by American blog Gawker in 2015.
It shows 1,571 names and many more phone numbers and email addresses of celebrities, royalty, politicians and other members of high society.
The book had 12 different phone numbers for Prince Andrew.

Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview
It was widely described as a “car crash” of an interview. Over an excruciating 50 minutes, the Duke was grilled by the BBC’s Emily Maitlis over his relationship with Epstein, and allegations made against him by Giuffre.
Andrew has always denied any sexual contact with Giuffre, who claimed she was forced to have sex with the Duke when she was 17.

During the interview, Andrew said that he’d been on Epstein’s private plane, and stayed at his private island in the Caribbean and at his home in Palm Beach, and visited Maxwell’s home in Belgravia, London.
Andrew was also asked about a shooting weekend he’d organised for Maxwell at Sandringham, also attended by Epstein. It is not clear when this visit took place, but the Duke denied having any knowledge of alleged sexual abuse by the pair at the time.

Andrew also denied having any knowledge of a photo alleged to have been taken in 2021, which showed him with Giuffre, purportedly in Maxwell’s flat.

Court shown image of Epstein and Maxwell in Balmoral
A picture showed to jurors at Maxwell’s sex trafficking trial in the US showed Epstein and Maxwell relaxing in what appears to be Queen Elizabeth’s Balmoral estate in Scotland.
The image is undated, but it was thought to have been taken in 1999 after Andrew invited them to stay at the residence, the BBC reported.
Andrew declined to comment at the time.

Andrew ‘spent weeks’ at Epstein’s Florida home, court documents show
Legal files unsealed in January under order of a federal court included testimony from a manager of Epstein’s Palm Beach home, who claimed Andrew had stayed there “for weeks”.
The released documents were part of a 2015 defamation lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre against Maxwell, the BBC reported.
In a 2009 deposition, Juan Alessi told investigators that Andrew “spent weeks with us” and received “daily massages” at the Florida mansion.
Mr Alessi told investigators that Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, were “friends” of Epstein and Maxwell. The duchess is not accused of any wrongdoing and Prince Andrew has denied misconduct.
Asked if they ever had “massages” during visits to the Palm Beach mansion, Mr Alessi answered: “Prince Andrew did.”
“I can’t remember if he had more than one [per day], but I think it was just a massage for him.”
2025New emails from Duchess of York to Epstein revealed
In September, it emerges that Sarah, Duchess of York, sent an apology email to Epstein after he threatened to “destroy” her family in a “chilling call”.
The duchess sent the message in April 2011, describing Epstein as a “supreme friend”, despite publicly disowning him in the media shortly before.
James Henderson, the duchess’s spokesperson at the time, said the email was sent after a “really menacing and nasty” phone call from the sex offender who had a “Hannibal Lecter-type voice”.
