Artist Yinka Ilori transforms Bloomingdale’s into a blooming wonderland | On Trend
We’re here at the Bloomingdales 59th Street Flagship where their Just Imagine celebration is in full swing. Bloomingdales teamed up with multi-disiplinary artist Yenko Allori on lots of cool activations and merch around the store and we’re going to check some of it out. Starting with the Cherish Your Magic Carousel. So, as you can see, the space is super fun, really colorful, and the artist was actually inspired by the wild flowers of New York City. There are lots of great giftable items in this pot, but also some fun interactive moments, too. Uh, warning, I never said I was good at pingpong. So, Yingo Lori actually collaborated with Bloomingdales on these really cute and cozy cashmere sweaters. They’re unisex. They come in several different colors and they’re just so fun for fall. Also, if you’re a fan of Augustina Spot’s cult favorite, the Rich Cream, it got this super colorful and fun packaging update as part of the collaboration. So, the artist also partnered with PlayStation to put a creative spin on the classic PlayStation buttons. They’re on hoodies, lots of other wearable pieces, even socks, as you can see here. [Music] [Music] Bloomingdales is having instore events all September as part of its just Imagine celebration. So come on through. This is one you’re going to want to see IRL.
Yinka Ilori is putting the “bloom” in @bloomingdales.
The London-based artist has taken over the store’s 59th Street flagship for fall, bringing its “Just Imagine” campaign to life with floral-themed windows and a “Cherish Your Magic” carousel pop-up filled with playful sculptures and exclusive product collaborations.
“Wildflowers grow spontaneously, thriving in unexpected places. They are resilient, adapting to their surroundings, carried by natural forces that spread their seeds and allow them to flourish. They bloom without rigid structure, embodying the beauty of growth in its most organic form,” Ilori wrote in an Instagram post announcing the partnership.
“This resilience and spontaneity is represented by the people of New York City, like wildflowers, their creativity unfolds and blossoms when they embrace the present moment and nurture their unique creative process. Everyone has their own path of blooming and way of bringing beauty into the world.”
