Emmys 2025: Inside The Pitt’s Surprising Sweep | E! News
Katherine Lanasa, The Pit, Noah Wy, The Pit, The Pit, The Pit, which also cleaned up. It is one of those old school shows that 15 episodes made for not a lot of money on a sound stage here in in California that was like us, just like the pit. Does anybody Is anybody sick? Is anybody’s a panda about to burst? wanted to play a doctor. See, I’m still a Grey’s Anatomy girly lead, but I will come to the pit. I hear the pit is everything, but I’m It’s amazing. I mean, it’s John Wells and Noah Wy who were together on ER way back in the day. And, you know, Noah had, I think, five nominations from his time at ER and had never won. And tonight, he gets the opportunity to win for best actor in a drama series. And he’s like, he’s a real dude. I mean, this might be like, you know, if you’re not in the industry, this might sound a little weird, but he uh I interviewed him when the show was premiering and he was down the street. They’re shooting at Warner Brothers. On his lunch break, he came here to come do the interview. He was in his wardrobe. He’s like, “All right, we done. I got to go back and finish the day.” And like drove back over and finished shooting the day of the show there. And the reason I say that’s weird is like most actors don’t give up their lunch break. Even if you’re there on the set and Noah is just that like that real dude who does stuff like that. giving up craft services to talk to you is I feel like it shows it shows the hustle which I think is like very impressive but I also think this is something that I want to talk about in the sense of adolescence the pit all of these dramas that cover these big topics sometimes uncomfortable topics uncomfortable to watch uncomfortable to talk about dark topics it’s weird that that’s the shows that we’re drawn to in this time when things are dark and I feel like a lot of times TV for escapism. But weirdly, we find ourselves watching dramas. Sure. And connecting with them. So, I just feel like even tonight when we were they were showing the clips of the pit or adolescence talking, oh, have you watched this? Like, I can’t even watch The Pit because it gives me a pit in my stomach. But, um, I know that so many people are drawn to it for that reason. So, I do love a good drama. I mean, I think we, you know, dramas make you feel a little tingle in the pit, in the body that wakes you up a little bit. reminds I think also um it allows you to have conversations about the hard things because you can watch it and then you can reference it, learn from it, grow with it. So I love a good drama. I mean it’s also nice for something like the pit which I know that they started because they were getting John and and no were getting letters from um nurses and doctors during the first weeks and months of co when things were really dark and so they wanted to create this as a love letter like we have Grey’s Anatomy. who had the first, you know, the first run of ER. I shouldn’t say the first run, we had the run of ER, but it’s, you know, where the medical drama is sort of romanticized a little bit, you know, and the pit is like, this is what it’s like now. It’s it’s real. It’s gritty. Like, these are hard jobs. And so, you are getting real life reflected back to you in a way that opens your eyes and next time you’re in the emergency room, you’re like, “Oh, this is this is it. This is this is real life and death stuff.” And speaking of it mirroring real life, wasn’t he wearing a suit made of scrubs? Yes. By nature, not to brag, but I am going to brag. I did a guest spot on Abbott Elementary and they shoot across from the pit and so all I saw was a bunch of bloody extras and I was like, “What the hell is this show?” And they said, “It’s the pit.” And I haven’t watched it still, but I just wanted to drop that in. The bloody extra. That was I wanted to just sprinkle that in. Yeah. We got to shout out Katherine Lanasa. I hope I’m saying her name correctly. That would be embarrassing if not. No, that was a severe bun and I loved it. Another performer who has been in dozens and dozens of things and is really getting this moment to shine because, you know, because of a show like The Pit, which is Noah, and then a bunch of other performers that might not be as well known as him, but are no less talented, and they’re stepping up and they’re getting their shine because of the of the work that they’re all doing.
