Ariana Grande has seen what Rachel Zgler did to Disney. And now she’s determined to do the same thing to Wicked and Universal. Grande just took on the Trump administration, the White House, and they pounced on her. They came back with a vengeance. Not even Rachel Zgler was capable of this kind of cinematic damage. Today, we’ll show you what Ariana did, what she said, and why she got hit with a huge haymaker. Back from the orange man. [Music] Hello ladies and gentlemen. Welcome friends. You heard it right, folks. She is there to sabotage Wicked and she is taking on the Trump administration. Not since the Zeg have we se seen a young starlet so determined to damage their own film. Out of that parkplace.com by Marvin Montao. Ariana Grande picks a fight with Trump right as wicked for good is about to release. The White House has responded. You know, not even Zgler managed to get Trump to respond. Not even Zgler got the White House to say something back. Yet Ariana has done it. Just as Universal Pictures begins the delicate roll out for its high stakes blockbuster, Wicked for Good, Ariana Grande decided to launch into a political tirade against President Trump and his supporters. The timing could not be worse. With Hollywood already watching film sink under the weight of their stars rhetoric from Rachel Ziggler’s disastrous noh white campaign to Pedro Pascal, Brie Larson, and Anthony Macky’s Marvel flops, Grande’s outburst threatens to drag Universal’s big money gamble into the culture war crossfire. So, what did Grande post? Well, for that we go straight to Ariana herself. It says, “I want to check in with Trump voters.” Which is, by the way, I’m sure what the distributors of Wicked were really excited to see that morning. People at Universal like, “No, shut up. Take the phone away. I want to check in with Trump voters. I have one very genuine question.” And then she goes on to ask about 15. Here we go. Here’s the one. Count them, folks. One very genuine question. It’s been 250 days now that immigrants have been violently torn from their families and communities have been destroyed. Now that people of a uh particular identity persuasion have been blamed for virtually everything and live in fear now that free speech is on the brink of collapse for us all. Has your life gotten better? One, have your groceries gotten cheaper? Two. Has your health insurance premium gone down? Three. Has your work/life balance improved? Four, can you take a vacation yet? Five, are you happier? Six, has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would or are you still waiting? Seven, very one genuine question. This is from Ariana Grande. Marvin, she’s tanking the movie. Yes. So, those she did not write those words herself. She shared it from somebody else. But still, when you put something out there like that, you are essentially saying those words yourself. So yeah, she is they they are about to launch into another one of their um you know press tours where I’m sure it’s just going to be her and Cynthia Orivo crying and holding hands and rubbing each other’s arms and and she’s just she can’t I want to ask Trump’s supporters a question. This is part of a balance breakfast like it’s she’s out like there’s no way anyone at Universal okayed her talking like this. They almost had the issue with Cynthia Arivo before the show when she freaked out at the dude about the poster. Um, and now I guess this time it’s Ariana. She was the thing that most people liked in the first Wicked movie. My wife loved her performance. So Cynthia Orivo was uh in the Hollywood Bowl and played Jesus in a very offensive display. Ariana is now out there. Uh, and she’s not she’s not hitting Trump and Trump supporters in a way that uh, you know, it’s kind of benign. And she’s not saying, “Hey, he’s not my favorite, but come watch our movie.” Like, she’s going after people saying, “You’re destroying communities. You are attacking everybody. You You’re destroying the fabric of America.” Um, I I just culture. I don’t think these people care about money. Maybe they have so much of it, they just don’t need it. But for all of the cinema owners out there and for all the people who serve the popcorn and for the the camera people and the grip people and you know on both sides of this thing, whether it’s in the production or the the showing of the product, uh they’re the ones who suffer from these people weighing in with their politics. And as we’ve talked about before with with people like Emma Watson and Rachel Zgler, Ariana Grande doesn’t live in the real world. She has no perspective on what real people actually really go through. Well, I mean that’s quite obvious, but at the same time, we have to remember these people have already been paid. She’s prepaid to do all of this garbage, and they shuttle her around to do her pre-pressed garbage for this wicked thing, not to mention everything else. So, to me, she she isn’t mindful of of the investment the studio made in her. Um, and in, you know, the studio made money on the last film, and she’s, you know, huffing her own supply. You know, Ariana Grande is great. I’m I’m just I’m I’m first of all, I’m not a huge fan. I don’t She Her voice is okay. She’s not a stellar voice. There are very few stellar voices anymore. And told you what I what I do is I just imitate the voices of other people who sing well. Yeah, that’s actually true. And you also get a little help from that autotune thing in the film, or at least the first one anyway. But regardless, I’ll just say I have I have no interest in this girl. She does not apply any uh critical thinking to anything that she says. And I think that, you know, going after half the country, you know, or more. I mean, based on, you know, recent changes in voter registration. I’ll I’ll just say that when you go after the people who are likely spending money on you, how many people are going to be inspired to see an extended version of the Broadway musical, which is kind of what this is. I I don’t I don’t think many the the second the second one, it’s it’s going to be really weird because there’s not enough of a second act in that show, especially not enough songs to uh all the big stuff is in the first act. So the second act they had to extend it a lot and they’ve got songs written by Cynthia Arivo in in this movie original songs. Yeah, I have a feeling. Yeah, I have a feeling this is a this is an epic car crash even without her possibly tanking, you know, its overall earnings. I I in fact, I’m not even going to say possibly. I think I had such a nice time at this dinner with Cynthia. They ordered bowls of chicken broth and just smelled it and then sent it back. Sniff the chicken broth. I something very wrong happened with it. First of all, I don’t know what inspired her to be a human kite, but she’s definitely not somebody that needs OMIC. So, hey Jonas, let me ask you this. Um, how much longer until companies do uh social media clauses that prevent these celebrities from destroying their product by going on, you know, we saw this with Rachel Zgler. We’ve seen it with Pedro Pascal. Now we’ve got it with Ariana Grande. This is a recipe for disaster every single time. They can’t be nice. They can’t be kind. They weigh in with some of the lowest IQ, most abrasive kind of political takes you can you can imagine. Jonas, how long until the studios realize that they need to have guard rails for the social media activities of their stars? You know, you know, actually, I have a different theory on on this one. They should have social media guardrails on all of their stars. That’s uh that that’s something that needs to be part for the course. It needs to be part of the contract. It needs to be something that they have written into every contract just because social media makes or breaks a film in many cases. However, there’s a little bit of left-wing activism built into the musical theater genre. Yeah. Because that is a uh that is a heavily leftleaning uh area of arts and culture that even when there wasn’t this uh woke takeover of everything had to be pretty careful when interacting with theater folk. Okay, let me ask you about that, Jonas. So, does that mean that that what she’s doing could be possibly maybe strategically wise for Wicked? Whereas with Rachel Zgler, she came out of that world, did that, and it tanked Snow White because that wasn’t the same group of people, right? Because Snow White is heavily associated with Walt Disney, who is heavily associated with traditional American values. Go ahead, Marvin. I I think they Universal really wants a billion dollars from this second Wicked movie because the first one didn’t get there. So, I think they want more broad appeal because you can’t just you you can’t just uh you know pander to the musical theater crowd and expect to get a billion dollar box office. Yes. Now, Marvin, the the White House the White House responded real quick and we’ll come back. Jonas, Marvin, what what was the White House response? Um, so the White House responded with this um this statement that basically used the titles of her songs to fire back at her. Um, it’s it’s in the article if you still have it up. If not, I can find it. Um, I’m looking for it right now in the article. Uh, before I pull it up on the screen, if just give us a summary of it, Marvin. Yeah. So, uh, the White House said, um, “Save your tears, Ariana, because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investment.” He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticket Master for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concertgoing fans. Get well soon, Ariana, because Get Welloon, just like Magic and Save Your Tears, are her songs. Okay, so this just says that most of the this is the hard left-leaning. Oh my goodness, I have to take a sick day because Taylor Taylor Swift and whatever Kelsey brother, I forget which are are engaged or whatever. Yeah. Uh the the other thing that I need to point out here with this is I think that Wicked for Good uh the sequel to Wicked, no uh no subtitle, people already kind of know whether or not they’re going to go see that movie anyways. There’s not going to be a lot of, “Oh, I walked into this second movie by accident.” I don’t think it’s like Captain America: Winter Soldier, where someone might just show up because it’s another Marvel movie without having seen the other ones. I think that in this case, awareness that the film is coming out is probably more important uh in than than anything else. They want the conversation to be Wicked for Good is coming out. Wicked for good is coming out. Ariana Grande said something idiotic and leftwing, but Wicked for Good is coming out. She did it on the press tour for Wicked Wicked for Good or whatever it is. I have no idea when this movie is coming out, but I think awareness is probably more the thing that they want here in something like this. So, uh, when you have someone like Cynthia Aravo or Revo or whatever that is at this point, I’ve decided to put the syllable on the last now since nobody else does it. It’s Era. Um, I think I I think decisions have already been made about whether or not people are going to go see it. Now it’s just they’re trying to mark that day on people’s calendars. So, please go see this in theaters is what they’re trying to do with this kind of thing. Unless it’s just some woman getting off and spouting off about whatever on social media. So, Jonas, you’re saying that the the audience that will go, they already know them and they’re trying to galvanize. It’s not about trying to broaden out the scope. Marvin on the other other hand says they’re going to need a bigger audience to hit that billion. They need the Barbie crowd. And the Barbie crowd includes people of all varieties, mostly women, but all varieties of political views. That’s an interesting conversation, folks. Culture, I’ll give the bow to you. What say you on all of these wise uh and contemplative thoughts the gentlemen have shared? Uh, I think uh the this movie is going to come down to whether or not you like to spend time with your family on Thanksgiving or you want to see an activist movie. Well, I culture I really enjoyed my experience on the first wicked cuz I took nothing from the craft services table, but I did take another woman’s husband.
