Sarah Jessica Parker Details “Tough Decision” to End And Just Like That | E! News
And sometimes it’s best to gracefully walk away when things feel really right. Sarah Jessica Parker is revealing why and just like that ended like that. During an October 2nd interview on CBS Mornings, the actress says it was time to officially say goodbye to the Sex in the City revival and to end Carrie Bradshaw’s story. I clearly a lot of thought went into it. It was a very I wasn’t ready for Carrie Bradshaw to leave us. I mean, I’m not certain I understand what that decision means actually because it I could just be on hiatus, you know. And it wasn’t just hard for her, but admittedly for writer and director Michael Patrick King, who stunned viewers when he announced that season 3 would bring And Just Like That to a close midseason. It was a difficult decision, Michael, and I talked a lot about it. And I think it’s out of respect for this really um singular professional experience that you have to consider what you want to do. Have you done it? And sometimes it’s best to gracefully walk away when things feel really right and sort of energetic versus squeezing and exploiting people’s generosity and hospitality. Walk away when people are saying don’t go. Yes. Fans said one final goodbye to Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte during the August 14th series finale. And while the news left fans in shock and with a lot of questions about the three characters who were brought to life in 1998, Michael was happy to put a period at the end of their stories. Telling the Hollywood Reporter in an interview in August, quote, “I really do want people to understand that this was about telling these stories and bringing them to a place where there was a finish. And by finish, I mean an open-ended finish where each of the characters lives could continue and you could feel good about it for all of them. It’s what you want to write now that we’re done. We’re done writing.

Glad it's gone… was horrible I was a big fan and could only stomach the first 3 episodes of AJLT first season. Never went back to watch
Was she honest?
This is just flat out lying. They could not sell the series overseas so HBO Cancelled it. MPK in the very last writers room podcast stated through it that it was the last ep “of this season”. There was nothing said about it being the end of the series.
Also – I seriously don’t think the series ending would have included a storyline that included cleaning up human feces 💩 in it. However I think it was fitting at the same time because this series in my opinion was so 💩ty! It disgraced the SATC legacy in so many ways.
i mean, the turd scene wasn’t either thought out, or graceful. sorry. don’t mind carrie ending up in a dreamworld and dream house all by herself. at least she looked like she was feeling herself. but the final episode had a lot of lows. and the series did not say much of anything, there wasn’t a whole lot of story told, let alone, storiES. what stories? that you had to break up all their lives(excluding charlotte) just to build them up again, much the same way they were initially? it’s always the same excuse: it’s about falling in love with yourself first and foremost. but then, they all need partners in their lives. and that’s normal, to want someone, and it’s normal to be alone, too. except mpk does not know what he wants to say. and does not know to differentiate between delaying their happily ever after because he wants to keep on doing the show and between doing the constant breaking up of their relationships out of an actual in-story purpose. he pretends it’s because of the “love yourself” reason, but no. these characters always end up with someone, because, inherently, that’s what mpk feels, rationally or irationally, is a happy ending. being with someone who feels like the one. if the show wasn’t cancelled, carrie would have ended up with someone, eventually. and i’m also betting that rocco’s (seema’s driver) steadfast silent presence throughout seema’s adventures was not just there for nothing.
clearly, it wasn’t planned for it to end now. kristin davis said so, and sjp is kind of saying it, without being too clear, cause, you know, she just doesn’t want to admit to it. “i might be on hiatus, as far as i know.” so, she is trying to find a home for the show’s continuation. as for me, i hope it does go on. it had a colourful glossy tinge (and yes, silliness) to it in a time where things are really, really dark.
