I was I was more emotional than than I anticipated because it’s not something you can rehearse for. It’s, you know, it’s it is what it is and it’s in the moment. But, um, I was ex the sort of preamble to it was exciting. And then when I finally was in front of uh his royal highness, I was um I was losing my voice a little. I was quite sort of quite emotional with it. I am I’m honored and um deeply flattered and humbled, I think, in equal measure. You know, it’s just an extraordinary extraordinary day. That’s good. And just hold it up. Thank you very much. Thank you. Well, currently I’m playing Jackson Lamb um in the Slow Horses series, hence my scruff. I I I have Jackson Lamb hair. The only thing I can do with it is put it up. Um uh I have a tummy as well. Um I so I carry I carry him um really everywhere I go now for for the last five years. In fact his royal highness said to me he said go he said when I I watched our horses he said I just want to I just want to give you a good wash. I said well I’ve hopefully I’ve scrubbed up fine today. We’re a team today. Oh you’re a team today. I wondered if you were a duo, you know, that that did this together a lot or just double trouble. Yeah, I do join a long line. Um, a great many of them. Um, a generation maybe above me or even two generations above me. Um, many of them I have admired and have been inspired by. Um and and now I I’m in I I I guess I hang in that hall of fame next to um next to a great many of them. I’m I feel deeply honored and very privileged. Yeah. Very lucky. I’m diabolically lucky. Um and they they they they’re hand in hand. Talent and luck. in this crazy business. Yeah. So, I feel very I feel very blessed today. Perfect. And then sorry, just just towards me. Sorry. Hollywood actor Sir Gary Oldman has revealed the surprising tongue-in-cheek remark Prince William made when bestowing his knighthood during a glitzy ceremony.

The Oscar winner, 67, was awarded a knighthood for services to drama by the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

During his brief interaction with the future king during the investiture ceremony, the “Darkest Hour” actor revealed the savage — but hilarious — quip William let slip.

According to Oldman, the royal explained that he was a “fan” of watching him in the hit Apple TV+ show “Slow Horses,” which sees him play the role of Jackson Lamb.

But despite his affinity for Oldman’s performance, William did admit that each time he sees the actor onscreen as Lamb, “I just want to give you a good wash.”
