    Peter Kay has cancelled two performances after having surgery. The popular comedian shared the update via his social media account on X, previously known as Twitter. The renowned 52-year-old comedian from Bolton is cherished for his stand-up work alongside Car Share, Phoenix Nights and his appearances with Paddy McGuinness in Max and Paddy.

    A statement posted on his social media reads: “SJM concerts announcement: We regret to inform you that due to a routine kidney stone procedure, Peter will be unable to perform his scheduled shows at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Sunday October 5 and Monday October 6, reports the Manchester Evening News.

    The statement confirms the performances have been rearranged, with Sunday’s gig shifting to Thursday December 11.

    Monday’s performance will transfer to Friday December 12.

    All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, the statement confirms.

    The post continues: “If you are unable to attend, refunds will be available from your original point of purchase.

    “We thank you for your patience and understanding.”

    The entertainer has been touring the nation with his “Better Late Than Never” tour since 2022.

    “Better Late Than Never” has seen the comedian break all attendance and performance records at the AO Arena, becoming the first artist globally to perform a monthly residency at The O2, London, with 45 shows – the highest number played by any artist in the venue’s history.

    He also recently announced a new book, “Diary: The Monthly Memoir of a Boy from Bolton”, which is set for release on October 9.

    Peter Kay is set to perform at the M&S Bank Arena on November 21 and 22 after adding a third date due to demand.
