Prince William and Princess Kate have only just moved into their new home and they’re already getting complaints from their neighbors, who have been locked out of Windsor Great Park, with one royal expert saying the Waleses act like they’re better than the public.
According to Ian Pelham Turner, a TV presenter in the UK, William and Kate act one way when they’re out and about and another way when they’re behind closed doors. And now that they’ve moved homes, their neighbors have something to say about it, sharing their grievances.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror US, Mr. Pelham Turner compared royal watching to TV watching, and that the Waleses are performative.

Pelham Turner said: “I feel they are stuck in a Netflix style environment, where in front of the cameras they perform sugar-coated appearance, but if their attitudes behind-the-scenes amplify what could be considered as a non-caring nature, provided their interests are about security, who knows that they are really like.”
He added: “If William will still use this as his home, even if he is King, then the security will become more strict in the future to protect him.”
The Waleses just moved into their new home, but with Forest Lodge being described as their “forever home,” it sounds like this is permanent, which means the rule in place is permanent.
It’s not like their new neighbors are going to get up close and personal with the royals, but based on recent reports, they aren’t scared to talk about the goings-on. If the neighbors hadn’t been shunned by William and Kate, it could have been a seamless transition, but now there’s a lot of chatter.
It seems the rule, which has been put in place for privacy, has backfired.
Royal expert is seeing a shift in William and Kate
Both William and Kate are known to be friendly and personable when carrying out their royal engagements, but at the same time, there has been talk of William being aggressive with his staff, shouting at them about money.
Pelham Turner, who is well-connected in the royal world, said: “It’s coming out that his staff find him, at times, very aggressive.”
It seems there’s more to the royal couple than what we’re seeing
He explained: “I know one of his many supporters, for his housing charity, and this guy is a volunteer, and he was telling me that William is constantly on to him all day, all night, saying, ‘How much money have we made? How much money have we made?’”
Back in 2023, we spoke to Even the Royals co-host Brooke Siffrinn, who said Kate “knows how to play the game,” which suggests there is more to the royal than what we’re seeing.
