Donald Trump may have visited the UK a fortnight ago but he has now shared a new telling message about his trip, where he was welcomed by the Royal Family. The US President spent two days in Windsor, hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla from Tuesday September 16 to Thursday September 18.
Trump took to his X account on Wednesday evening to share a handful of snaps from his trip to Britain, including one of his speech at Windsor Castle while being sat beside Kate Middleton, a group photo with his wife, Melania Trump, and the King and Queen and two other snaps of the state banquet being staged in his honour. He wrote: “It was great being with King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Royal Family!”
The 79-year-old is the first US President ever to be invited twice to the UK with his first visit coming in 2019 during his previous presidency, when he was welcomed by the late Queen Elizabeth. Trump heaped praise on the royals on his way back to his country following the state visit.

When asked by reporters what the best part of his visit to the UK was, he replied: “I don’t know, I think just being with King Charles. He’s a wonderful guy.
“I got to know him very well. I knew him before, but now I know him a little better.
“The artwork. I saw more paintings than any human being has ever seen and statues. But they treated us great. They treated our country great.
“I view that as being really respectful for our country the way they did it because last night was beautiful.
“And we had the biggest people in the world there. That was respect for our country.”
Mr Trump was also asked if the First Lady enjoyed her time with the Princess of Wales after the two women hosted Scouts who received sandwiches made with honey from Kate’s beehive.

He replied: “She did. She thought she was great. I did too. I sat with her last night, Melania went with her today, she thought she was great. A very wonderful person. She went through a lot too – but hopefully that’s all gone.
“William is wonderful. And I knew Charles as a prince and now I know him as a king and he’s doing very well. It was a lovely trip and I thought the press was really nice.”
