Donald Trump’s recent state visit showcased the strengths of the Royal Family and emphasized the significance of the UK’s constitutional monarchy, according to a royal commentator.

King Charles was reportedly apprehensive about Trump speaking out of turn during the state visit, but it went smoothly, shining a spotlight on the Royal Family.

PR specialist Lynn Carratt spoke exclusively to Mirror US about the state visit and its impact on the Firm’s public image.

Carratt, Director of E20 Communications, said: “While the state visit wasn’t without controversy, it did appear to go well from the side of the Royal Family and without a doubt helped to improve UK-US relations and the public stage has been reset.”

The visit was so successful that Trump now wants to invite Charles and Camilla for a state visit to the US in 2026. Rumor has it, the invitation might also be extended to the Sussexes.

Royal expert Pauline Maclaran, professor at Royal Holloway, also shared her insights on Trump’s state visit and its implications for the Royal Family.

The royal author said: “I think the Trump visit is important for King Charles and the royal family more broadly because it’s a chance to display their soft power skills and, in turn, the value or benefits they can offer Britain (which are questioned more and more in recent times).”

She added: “It is well-known that Trump admires the Royal Family and seeks status through meeting them.”

Trump’s state visit helped shine a spotlight on the Royal Family

During his visit to the U.K., it appeared that Trump was hoping to bask in the glow of the Royal Family, and it seemed to have worked.

The U.S. President behaved in an unusually restrained manner and delivered his state banquet speech, dare we say, eloquently.

Trump is a fan of the Royal Family but not all of its members

Yes, Trump left Prince Harry out of his thank you speech, but according to Carratt, it’s because Harry and Meghan weren’t present.

The PR specialist clarified: “In my personal opinion I don’t think it was a jab, I believe it was a deliberate omission, the state banquet was official business for the Royal Family and Donald Trump, and as Harry has stepped away as a working royal, it is unlikely he would be mentioned.”
